fairiestoyHello everybody. I have a little Problem connecting to mobile network on the  Aquaris E5 with Ubuntu 14.10 (r2). For some reason, it just won't connect. I've also looked up several ways to solve this (including accessing it via adb), but i can't get a connection. Has anybody an idea how i can solve this issue?10:37
nik90fairiestoy, why are you using 14.10? It is so outdated. Use the latest 15.04 images.11:16
nik90try the ubuntu-touch/stable channels or the ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed channels to be up to date11:17
fairiestoynik90 Thanks for the reply. But atm i have no access to a WLAN Point, thats why I thought i cannot upgrade. The current system was preinstalled on the phone.11:22
cybergig22I was wondering if I could get help as to whether or not it would be a good idea to install ubuntu on a device I have since im not familiar with installing on tablets19:53
cybergig22the specs for the tablet are located here http://pastebin.com/NGihGYsv19:53
cybergig22its a windows 10 RCA tablet19:55
cybergig22I need help, I want to try to install ubuntu on my tablet because I am not happy with windows 10 being on it so I was wondering if these specs would work with the ubuntu touch for tablets v20:35

cybergig22thats the exact tablet20:38
cybergig22except mine runs at 1.33ghz20:39
dobey#ubuntu is the exact channel you should ask for help in, unless you are asking about porting the phone/tablet image builds to your device specifically; but since it doesn't run android, that might be problematic20:39
cybergig22they told me to come in here20:40
cybergig22I want to put it on a tablet20:40
dobeywhat ubuntu do you want to put on the tablet? the standard unity7 based ubuntu like used on a standard intel PC? or you want the phone/tablet unity8 based confined version?20:41
dobey(the latter may not be possible)20:42
cybergig22I want to put it on a tablet?20:42
cybergig22whic would be better suited i mean20:42
dobeyfor the former, the correct support channel is #ubuntu20:43
dobeyyou need to dlownload the ISO, make a usb drive out of it, and boot off of it, as is standard for installing ubuntu on any x86 pc20:43
cybergig22so the desktop version would be better suited to install?20:44
dobeywhomever advised you that this channel is correct, was incorrect20:44
cybergig22cause they threw me into here20:44
dobeyyes20:44
cybergig22ok20:44
cybergig22ok20:44
cybergig22I'll tive them another go when i go home to see if I can get this all sorted out20:45
dobeyunless the tablet has 32-bit EFI, in which case installing ubuntu might be problematic. i'm not sure if 16.04 will fix that or not20:45
cybergig22how would I find that out?20:46
