FoeHammeredReiterating my question for those just entering: I'm trying to figure out how to set, or even just learn existing, keyboard shortcuts. What is XF86AudioMute? Is that a key on a keyboard? If so, how can I tell if my keyboard even has it? If it's in lubuntu-rc.xml, does that mean I have that key?01:05
ianorlynFoeHammered, no it does not01:14
ianorlynmean you have that on your key01:14
FoeHammeredDang.01:14
ianorlynXF86Audio mute is a basically the mute button on laptops01:14
FoeHammeredAh!01:14
ianorlyndoesn't work on this old keyboartd and this desktop01:14
ianorlynyou can bind it to something else01:14
FoeHammeredWhereas I do have volume up and down keys, hence the confusion.01:15
FoeHammeredSo perhaps I might bind it to pressing, say, super + volume down. And I would put this in that field?01:15
ianorlynhttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/Keyboard is the one for the existing ones01:16
ianorlynwhich is more readable than the xml01:16
FoeHammeredIndeed. Unfortunately, that and other pages seem to indicate I do not have a mute key presently mapped.01:17
FoeHammeredWhich means I'd have to set it myself, and I am told this means either editing the xml or installing something such as xbindkeys?01:17
ianorlynyeah if you do edit it make a backup copy first and then just rename to that01:18
FoeHammeredHave done! Another page told me to back it up. I was thankful for the reminder, and am again.01:18
ianorlynyou need to run openbox --reconfigure to get it to take effect01:19
ianorlynThis is actually a nice feature as it can catch some problems if you have a badly formated xml file01:19
ianorlyndoes not solve close to everything though01:19
FoeHammeredNice to know there's something stopping me from being a total bonehead occasionally, though.01:20
FoeHammeredSo I suppose now I need to find an example of the kind of keybind I'm looking for, and replace XF86Audio with it?01:21
FoeHammeredThen openbox --reconfigure\01:22
FoeHammeredEr, minus the \01:22
FoeHammeredAnd watch it crash my computer 'cause I screwed it up? ^_^01:22
FoeHammeredSound correct, ianorlyn?01:26
ianorlynFoeHammered, yes01:27
FoeHammeredExcellent! Let's break something! Thank you.01:28
FoeHammeredSo, why is it that, in openbox, amixer -q sset Master toggle will only mute the volume, but amixer -D pulse -q sset Master toggle will both mute and unmute it?05:13
FoeHammeredI'm just terribly curious about the syntax there.05:15
