pitiyei am running 15.04 and want to install 16.04 on a different partition, while being still on 15.04, and without using grub iso boot. is this possible ?16:11
dzhoah, too late19:54
HackenHello guys, i installed lubuntu today on a usb using virtualbox, but on all computers i've tried it on, it's super laggy. It's a 3.0 at 8gb, please help?19:57
tsimonq2Hacken: when was your computer made? what's the model of the flash drive? how did you make the flash drive?20:05
HackenIve tried it on my macbook air(2014) and my main pc, 3 years old. The flashdrive is called Kingston datatraveler 111, I installed it by running a virtual machine(Virtual box) but mounting the usb instead of the virtual drive(Following a guide i found regarding the subject)20:08
HackenIt has only one partion(/), no swap20:09
ianorlinHacken in virtualbox do you have hardware virtualization enabled?20:12
ianorlinand is it 32 or 64 bit lubuntu20:12
Hacken32 bit20:12
ianorlinalthough sometimes usb is a slower more latent bus20:12
ianorlinmacbook air has a sata ssd right20:12
HackenYes20:13
Hacken(i think)20:13
ianorlinyeah those are a lot faster then that 8 GB usb 3.0 drive20:13
Hackenok20:13
HackenSo basiclly, the usb is just really slow? even compared to an hdd?20:14
Hacken(Also hardware virtualization is on)20:14
ianorlinyes withuot that it is really laggy20:14
ianorlinI don't know that particular drive but yes they are not the fastest as that  is why the usb flashdrives are inexpensive20:15
HackenOk, well thanks for the help, could not find anything about why it was lagging so thanks, need to go now20:17
ianorlinwell do you have enough free space to test on a the main drive and if it is faster then you know it is the usb drive20:17

ignacio_Hello22:39
ignacio_lubuntu 16.04 doesn't show22:40
ignacio_try before install22:40
ignacio_is that normal?22:40
dtyHi all.  I have just upgraded from a recent install of 15.10.  After rebooting and logging in, the screen locks up after a second or two and I am unable to switch displays but I can switch displays from log in screen and log into the command line.22:44
tewardignacio_: probably not, i'm downloading the Lubuntu image now to do a test22:46
tewardignacio_: are you using the Lubuntu Desktop ISO, or the Alternate ISO?22:47
ignacio_I downloaded xubuntu now.. I will try with xubuntu :(22:47
tewardignacio_: because the Desktop 16.04 ISO *does* show "Try Lubuntu WIthout Installing"22:47
ignacio_192:Downloads ignacio$ rm -rf lubuntu lubuntu-16.04-alternate-i386.iso lubuntu-16.04-alternate-i386.iso.torrent22:47
ignacio_ohh.22:47
ignacio_Ok, thats because I didn't downloaded it from lubuntu.net22:47
ignacio_where it still shows 15.1022:47
tewardignacio_: that's the alternate installer22:48
ignacio_so its doesn't have live?22:48
tewardignacio_: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/releases/16.04/release/ is one of the locations Lubuntu ISOs can find it22:48
ignacio_do you know here can I report that it still shows 15.10?22:48
tewardi think that wxl and others need to update the Lubuntu site22:48
tewardignacio_: they know22:48
ignacio_Oh22:48
ignacio_ok22:48
ignacio_Thank you22:48

ignacio_*indeed :322:48
tewardwxl: ohai, you're alive :)22:49
wxlignacio_: it's kind of a long story, but that's not the "official" site22:49
wxllubuntu.me is22:49
wxlupdate your bookmarks22:49
ignacio_its the one that i remember22:49
tewardo.O22:49
ignacio_well.22:49
ignacio_how about redirect in lubuntu.net? :-/22:49
wxlbecause we have no control over it22:49
wxlit's run by the guy who started lubuntu22:49
wxland who is no longer involved in it at all22:49
wxlwe've struggled to make something else happen, including a redirect22:50
ignacio_have you tried to talk with him?22:50
ignacio_;-;22:50
wxlso we decided to move on and make lubuntu.me22:50
tewardwxl: i assume you're ignoring my PMs22:50
wxlteward: i'm answering them here too :)22:50
wxlif you look at the wiki, lp, and any place we do have control over, they all mention lubuntu.me22:51
