bluesabreprobably going to work on the document templates this week02:40
krytarikbluesabre: However, I'd just add the branch links there, i.e.: https://code.launchpad.net/~xubuntu-dev/livecd-rootfs/xubuntu-base , https://code.launchpad.net/~xubuntu-dev/debian-cd/xubuntu-base , https://code.launchpad.net/~xubuntu-dev/ubuntu-cdimage/xubuntu-base02:42

jimmy_i am afraid you won't get any answer here07:14
jimmy_this is a desert in cyberspace07:14
flocculantjimmy_: the trick is to leave the question at the nearest oasis and check the answer when you next see it07:15
jimmy_I see! :D07:18
jimmy_Anyways I have sent an Email to mirror@ubuntu.com07:18

mexchipgood morning/afternoon all, I'd like some help with my upgrade from Xubuntu 14.04 to Xubuntu 16.0415:35
mexchipI have a Dell Inspiron laptop, it came with windows 8 and I updated it to Windows 10, since I got the laptop, I installed Xubuntu 14.04 on it15:35
mexchipI have several partitions on the hdd15:36
mexchipsda1 to sda915:36
mexchipxubuntu 14.04 was installed on sda7, and sda8 was used as swap15:37
mexchipyesterday I tried to install xubuntu 16.0415:37
mexchipI selected "erase and reinstall", and checked the sda7 partition to be formatted15:37
mexchiphowever, just before starting, the installer indicated that it'd modify partitions #10 and #1115:38
mexchipI think that's not correct, since last partition is sda915:38
mexchipI guess the installer was trying to use "new" partition15:38
mexchipso, I selected the "something else" option and manually indicated that I wanted / to be mounted on sda7 and have it formatted15:39
mexchipand sda8 as swap15:39
mexchipI'm trying the installer just now15:40
mexchipselected "erase Xubuntu 16.04 and reinstall"15:40
mexchipI get this message for the partitions to be formatted:15:40
mexchippartition #10 of SDSI (0,0,0) (sda) as ext415:40
mexchippartition #8 of SCSI1 (0,0,0) sda as swap15:40
mexchipbut I'm sure I don't have a #10 partition, the last one is sda9, and it's a ntfs one15:41
mexchipso I go back and select "Something else"15:41
mexchipyesterday I indicated / to be mounted to sda715:42
mexchipand sda8 to be used as swap15:42
mexchipbut I indicated to install the bootloader to /dev/sda, and when starting the system I get a grub rescue console15:43
mexchipI tried reinstalling grub using the installation media15:43
mexchipbut when running grub-install /dev/sda I get this message:15:44
mexchipgrub-install: error: failed to get canonical path of '/cow'.15:44
mexchipI think the problem is that this is an UEFI system, last time I did this sort of things (installing GRUB) I only worked with so called "legacy boot" systems15:45
mexchipwhat do I need to indicate the installer for the "device for boot loader installation" option?15:45
mexchipa specific partition?15:45
krytarikmexchip: Support is actually in #xubuntu - which might be the reason why you seem to be doing a monologue here.15:57
mexchipkrytarik sorry, I'm going to #xubuntu now16:00
mexchipthanks16:00
flocculantknome: if we produced some How to ... video's - is there somewhere in xubuntu space we can host them? If not - that we could :)18:12
flocculantalternatively they could be youtube or something I guess18:12
flocculantbluesabre: re package tracker - given experience not sure we should do that this cycle - but given the few things we have had issues with lately for whatever reason - we could create a short suite with specific things in it - even produce more specific tests for that limited number - bit more detail on http://pad.ubuntu.com/xubuntuqa-y-cycle 18:17
knomere: videos, i would probably look to upload them to youtube/vimeo/insert a video service here18:31
knomethere's little benefit in hosting them ourself18:32
flocculantthought so - just wanted to check - we'd be linking to them obviously18:32
knomeif somebody wants to create a series of videos, and wants to make them more "official", we can definitely set up a xubuntu account for that18:32
flocculantthough it might help if you knew what they were :D18:32
flocculantQA things 18:33
knomemaybe...18:33
knomeyeah, we can totally set something up18:33
flocculantnot just randomness18:33
knomeack18:33
flocculantwb :)19:33
Unit193Danke.19:36
Unit193Uploaded new xfce4-eyes-plugin.23:59
