zzebsterHi I could do with some help with a preseed issue. I have configured the apt-setup/security_protocol to https and this is correctly set during the installation but when it added to the target os sorces.list it is set to http. the trusty and trusty-updates are added correctly with https. Any one know how to make it add it to the sources.list with the correct https protocol?08:41
Ox032FI'm trying to update from 14.04 to 16.04 but I get a lot of "/usr/sbin/invoke-rc.d: 1: /usr/sbin/invoke-rc.d: /sbin/runlevel: not found" and systemd is not installed, what can I do?09:09
Ox032Fis it even possible to upgrade a virtual-server?09:09
Ox032For do I need to stick to the original release?09:10
dasjoeUpgrading from 14.04 will be supported once 16.04.1 is released, which is scheduled for July 21st09:17
karstensrageok got the credential provider to work, apparently you have to compile it 64 bit and copy it to System3214:22
karstensragethe project defaults to compiling for 32 bit and its never mentioned anywhere14:23
karstensragei think one of the reasons windows is such a baffling ordeal is its so non-intuitive14:23
karstensrageof course 64 bit stuff goes in System3214:23
karstensrageoops14:24
karstensragewrong -server channel14:24

sarnoldrbasak: thanks -- but I thought -we- were apport hook upstream?17:52
mdeslaursarnold: we're apport upstream, but the package may ship an apport hook18:21
mdeslaurthe apport hook may be provided from upstream18:21
mdeslaurthough in this case it looks like something we ship and not upstream18:22
mdeslaursarnold: oh, which is exactly what you said18:23
mdeslaursarnold: never mind me, sometimes I ramble18:23
TJ-the recent 15.10 php5 ... ubuntu3.2 is apparently causing an OOM with SOAP requests, who deals with that?18:24
sarnoldmdeslaur: interesting, I didn't know that 'upstreams' were ever involved in the apport hooks.. well, apart perhaps from canonical-driven things, like apparmor apport hooks ..18:34
mdeslaurTJ-: file a bug and point me to it please18:43
TJ-mdeslaur: bug 1575298   I asked the reporter to add specific info to it, he told me one of his colleagues had traced the fault in the source.18:46
ubottubug 1575298 in php5 (Ubuntu) "php5 5.6.11+dfsg-1ubuntu3.2 SOAP Out Of Memory (OOM)" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/157529818:46
opwallindoes anyone idea why postfix want use 25 port and not 587 ?18:53
naccopwallin: that's the default smtp port, iirc (meaning you didn't modify your postfix configuration?)18:54
opwallinyes i have may of them ... :)18:55
naccopwallin: it's been a while since i messed with a postfix configuration, but i believe the port is managed by /etc/postfix/master.cf18:56
naccopwallin: and by default the entry is just "smtp" which means port 2518:56
sarnold.. wouldn't 587 be used by MUAs?18:56
opwallinif i remove all of smtp no happends18:56
opwallinnothing happends ...18:57
naccopwallin: i don't know what you mean; you'd have to add a new entry to get it18:57
naccopwallin: and iirc, 587 is the same as "submission"18:57
naccsarnold: it might be, but my most common interaction with this question is ISPs blocking port 25 :)18:58
mdeslaurTJ-: oh, I see the problem...I'll have a php5 package to test in the security team ppa in a few minutes18:59

opwallinloaded not-found, actvie: inactive (dead)19:08
TJ-mdeslaur: you're a star... I think the user will be pleased19:09
naccopwallin: apologies, had an internet hiccup at home; was that directed at me? submission is in /etc/postfix/master.cf, it's not its own service (iirc)19:10
opwallinmmmh ok i'll check it19:11
opwallinhow to increase debug logs in postfix ?19:12
opwallinprobably i will found it somehow ..19:13

ubuoneubuposso chiedere info generali su ubuntu server?20:24
tarpmanubuoneubu: hello, please ask in #ubuntu-it20:25
danawarHey Ubuntu Server how can i install a package without upgrade packages that have upgrades available i want to install kodi but not install the latest samba update.20:27
bekksdanawar: sudp apt install kodi20:28
danawarhttp://pastebin.com/7SfyfWSN20:29
tarpmandanawar: maybe - apt install kodi libsmbclient=<samba version you currently have installed>20:32
tarpmandanawar: or pin libsmbclient20:32
tarpmandanawar: why don't you want to update samba?20:32
tarpmanpardon me, pin samba, not pin libsmbclient20:33

danawarAny more suggestions regarding the paste above?20:44
tarpmandanawar: I still think the easiest is the very first thing I suggested: apt install kodi libsmbclient=<samba version you currently have installed>20:47
tarpmandanawar: otherwise you probably are going to end up having to pin all those samba packages (including libsmbclient) otherwise apt will keep trying to upgrade them20:48
danawarThanks tarpman that worked a treat!20:56
opwallinqmgr[10718]: warning: connect to transport private/submission: No such file or directory20:57
