mcphailmariogrip: a friend might be selling a (slightly cracked) OPO. Is your port at daily-driver status yet? Tempted to buy as a dev device...10:23
DarthDepaHi guys! :D10:31
DarthDepaI have some problems playing video on my new BQ Aquaris M10 (Ubuntu Edition)10:32
DarthDepawhich codecs native app supports?10:32
DarthDepaI also made a simply JavaScript that create a player (HTML5 or Flash) but seems not to work10:33
davmor2flash won't work I don't think but html 5 should10:34
DarthDepaNo :'( But also on Chromium (on desktop) has problem10:35
ogra_wasnt there a "codec checker" app in the store ?10:35
ogra_note though that the browser (and webapp containers) use plain SW rendering ... HW codecs are only used for the mediaplayer app10:36
DarthDepaogra_: Yeah, sure :( but the mediaplayer app seems not to work10:37

mardytvoss, ssweeny: ping for https://code.launchpad.net/~mardy/location-service/old-location-1551686/+merge/293075 when you have a minute13:33
tvossmardy, on the list, thanks for heads up13:33
mardytvoss: ok, thanks13:33
mardydobey: there are still a couple of MPs waiting for your review: https://code.launchpad.net/~mardy/ubuntuone-credentials/signon-plugin-part2/+merge/293217 and https://code.launchpad.net/~mardy/ubuntuone-credentials/default-token-name/+merge/29323413:53
mardydobey: not hurrying you in any way, just making sure they are in your radar :-)13:53
dobeymardy: yes. i'm not sure want to land part2 for ota11, because we haven't heard from back from design yet afaik. so i'm still a bit hesitant to land stuff which switches the plug-in to one that uses generic UI13:54
mardydobey: ok, now what's most interesting to me is whether you are fine with the code14:07
mardydobey: I'll leave it to dbarth to worry about the schedule14:08
dobeymardy: i'll try to look at it.14:08
mardydobey: thanks14:10
mcphailI see UOS has started. I was curious about yesterday's UT "papercuts" session. What was the response? Would be keen to volunteer for something. Don't have a good enough mobile signal to watch teh video just now14:20
dobeymcphail: there will be an announce mail sent soon i guess14:21
mcphaildobey: OK. Ta14:21
mhall119oSoMoN: are you all set for the webbrowser convergence session in ~15 minutes?14:47
oSoMoNmhall119, all set yeah14:52
timpmariogrip: hello14:54
timpmariogrip: I'm curious about the fairphone214:54
timpmariogrip: mainly 2 things: how does the size compare to (for example) the BQ ubuntu phone, and how far is the ubuntu port?14:55
=== dandrader is now known as dandrader|lunch
mhall119oSoMoN: and you know how to setup the hangout and put it in summit?14:57
oSoMoNmhall119, no15:00
mariogriptimp: it's about the same size as the bq aquaris E5, the port is really early not much is working yet15:00
mhall119oSoMoN: ok, I'll set it up and give you the link to join15:00
oSoMoNmhall119, thanks15:00
mhall119in the mean time, please /join #ubuntu-uos-convergence15:00
timpmariogrip: okay, thanks.15:01
timpI'm using smaller phones now (like the bq e4.5), so I guess I'll have to try to get my hands on one to see if I like the bigger size15:01
timpI think fairphone+ubuntu would be a nice match15:01
popeytimp: the OnePlus X is a nice size, I prefer iPhone 4S size phones, but the OPX is manageable.15:02
popeyI have small ladyhands15:02
timphaha ;)15:02
timpI just don't like to carry a lot of big stuff in my pockeets15:03

aua$openssl version20:18
auaOpenSSL 1.0.1f 6 Jan 201420:18
auaOn an E4.5 with no updates available.  Am I doing something wrong?20:19
auaDoes that mean ububtu touch comes with an unpatched OpenSSL package?  Is that relevant at all?  Or do apps use other crypto libs on UT?20:28
mcphailaua: if it is vulnerable, I suspect it will be patched in the next OTA. The question will be: will that be OTA11 or will there be an OTA10.2 security hotfix?20:37
auamcphail: Well, letting alone the latest security advisories, I wonder about the two year old 'patch level'.  I own a UT phone for 2 days an am a bit upset.  But, well, I have no idea if OpenSSL is used internally at all.20:44
dobeyaua: the patch level isn't "two years old"20:44
auaBut20:45
aua`?20:45
dobeyyou can't look at the release date of the openssl version to know what has been patched in it. that's simply the date 1.0.1f was released20:45
auaUnderstand.  Other distros make that 1.0.1f+something20:46
dobeyaua: so does ubuntu. see "dpkg -l libssl1.0.0"20:47
=== _charlie_sanders is now known as charlie_sanders
auaGives me '1.0.1f-1ubun'.  Looks like one patch set away from 1.0.1f.  Better than nothing.20:49
=== chihchun_afk is now known as chihchun
mcphailaua: secutiry fixes are generally backported to supported packages. Whilst you are probably correct there will be a bit of lag getting the current SSL fixes into ubuntu touch, it will be a matter of days (rather than months/never for competing platforms with similar issues)20:55
auamcphail: Yeah, but I really don't mind a few days or even weeks.  I've noted down the dpkg command and will come back here after the next update if it still gives 1.0.1f-1ubun.  Thanks for spending your time on my questions!20:57
mcphailaua: feel free to ask on the mailing list. You'll probably get an ETA for the fix20:58
dobeyit will be 1ubuntu11.6 probably21:01
dobeylooks like the version got chopped in printout for you for some reason21:01
auadobey: Had Terminal opend in portrait.  When looking in landscape mode it gets '-1ubuntu1'.  Still not the full name.  Will try again with yet smaller font size.21:05
mcphailaua: try "dpkg -l libssl1.0.0 | nc termbin.com 9999" which should paste the output to a pastebin21:06
dobeyor "dpkg -l | grep libssl1.0.0"21:07
dobeywhich will cause it to get wrapped (it should be anyway, but terminal types can be weird)21:07
mcphailadb doesn't wrap properly21:08
auahttp://termbin.com/zwr921:10
auaOK. That gives some confidence again. Thanks!21:11
