JamesTaitGood morning all!  Happy Monday, and happy Lost Sock Memorial Day! 😃09:10
SuperMattI currently live in a state where all socks are present, correct, and paired. This has been the case for the last year or so.09:18

MooDoohttps://www.paulmellors.net/passwords.html10:31
MooDoo:)10:31
diploDon't click the link!!!!!10:32
diplo:P10:32
MooDoodiplo: I was doing a social experiment to see actually how many people would type in their password blatently to a site, it's a safe sight10:32
MooDoosite10:32
diploWhere did you put the link ?10:34
diploPassword validation failure (your choise is weak):10:34
diploShould there be something at the end of : ?10:34
diplorawr Your password is strong.10:35
MooDoodiplo: no nothing is there and if you put in your password i'll not be happy ;)10:36
diploI put my extra l33t password in10:36
MooDoodiplo: ;)10:36
MooDoodiplo: I've already had what appears to be legit passwords in, some people are crazy10:37
diploSome people are stupid!10:37
MooDoodefinately....when someone told me that people will put their password into any legit looking site, i couldn't believe them, now i do :)10:38
diployeah, stupid bloody people, and yours doesn't even look legitimate :D10:44
SuperMattproblem is you have to put your password in so many things, that many seasoned pros could be caught out10:48
SuperMattI use keepass on my linux machines. There is nothing to stop canonical or redhat from altering the binary so send my passwords to them in plain text, but keep the source code free of this kind of change10:49
SuperMattI have to put my trust somewhere, and hope it never bites me in the backside10:49
diploSuperMatt: I do/use the same apart from that it syncs to all my devices ( windows/droid/*nix(10:52
MooDooSuperMatt: I use lastpass, it works for me, it was a social experiment just to see if people would put their passwords into my page10:57
SuperMattlastpass is a browser extension, no?10:58
SuperMattI wouldn't want to trust that because I don't know what will be done with the passwords when they're save t'cloud10:58
MooDooit seems to work for me, and my vault pass phrase os over 30 chars log :)11:02

Bram___hello first I'm sorry for my bad english11:29
MooDoodon't worry about it, welcome.  If you have a question just ask and if anyone can answer it, they will :)11:30
Bram___so I made a python code and a c code. I want to link both codes with a binary file but I have a problem. somtimes I miss data11:32
Bram___so this is my python code11:32
Bram___http://paste.ubuntu.com/16316979/11:32
Bram___http://paste.ubuntu.com/16316983/11:33
Bram___and this is my c code11:33
Bram___http://paste.ubuntu.com/16316993/11:33
Bram___so when I run both codes I have serial data as 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,10,.... so 5 and 6 are missing in the data stream11:34
Bram___I think that the reopening of the file (in the c cod) for clearing the content of the file the problem is11:36
Bram___have you any solution for resolving this problem?11:37
SuperMattI don't think that falls under the umberella of an Ubuntu specific problem11:39
SuperMattso finding help here might be difficult11:39
SuperMattyou could try stackexchange11:40
Bram___yes thats true I work on a Raspberry Pi11:43

AzelphurAnyone know of a bluetooth receiver that takes 3.5mm audio in/out? Bonus points if it's mains powered18:33
popeya bluetooth speaker?18:34
Azelphurpopey: no, I want to be able to, plug a PC headset into it, so it needs 3.5mm jacks18:35
popeyi dont know what you're asking for then18:36
Azelphurto be able to use my headset (that has 3.5mm jacks for mic/audio) with my phone, but via bluetooth18:36
Azelphurso it'd be headset -> cables -> bluetooth -> phone18:36
diddledanI think most bluetooth headset thingies have the headset and bluetooth embedded into the same unit18:37
popeynever heard of such a thing18:37
Azelphursomething like this: http://www.handtec.co.uk/sony-sbh52-bluetooth-headset.html18:38
popeyneat18:48
Azelphurpopey: seems like most of them have microphones built into the receiver though, rather than a 3.5mm jack for the mic.18:49
popeyyeah, designed for phones18:49
popeyyou could possibly bodge the connector into a 4pin jack18:49
AzelphurIndeed,p robably could18:49
popeyactually there must be converters18:49
diddledanhow to make a UNIX/Linux geek cringe: claim that BASH was named after Jason Bourne the guy who Matt Damon plays in the movies18:50
