ubot5Launchpad bug 1586541 in Canonical System Image "lttng is not saving traces " [Critical,Confirmed]09:02
tsdgeosSaviq: ↑↑09:02
tsdgeosgreyback: ↑↑↑ in case you *need* it now09:13
greybacktsdgeos: ack, thanks09:14
Saviqtsdgeos, ack, so looks like the backport didn't work too well?09:31
pstolowskiSaviq, hey, need review of unity8 team for https://code.launchpad.net/~stolowski/unity8/apparmor-profile/+merge/272602 ; also, i'd like to ready this in silo 65 for QA09:42
Saviqpstolowski, ack, can you please explain also why the icon is needed - also something went wrong with the icon - removed/added/moved09:45
Saviqpstolowski, as far as the apparmor profile goes, did you get this reviewed with security folk or shall I?09:46
Saviqthings like {,u,re}mount, pivot_root look excessive09:46
tsdgeosSaviq: we backported half of it too, packages fault for not making the tool depend on the lib it seems09:47
pstolowskiSaviq, I didn't, but I got this profile from jdstrand09:47
tsdgeoss/too/only09:47
Saviqtsdgeos, ah09:47
pstolowskiSaviq, it was intended to be very permissive initially, but we can tighten it, sure09:48
Saviqpstolowski, ok so fix up the icon added/removed/.moved please and I'll ack09:49
pstolowskiSaviq, yep, looking09:49
Saviqpstolowski, oh? no need for an icon any more? why's that?10:21
pstolowskiSaviq, an icon is already installed. i installed it in extra location for privacy settings to work. looks my copy is not needed anymore, but I'm going to rebuild the silo and check10:23
pstolowskiSaviq, I think something got fixes somewhere and a copy in /suru/ is not needed anymore10:24
pstolowski* fixed10:24
pstolowskiSaviq, and note, unity8 already ships unity8-dash.png, all these added/removed/moved messup was because it got added in trunk at about the same time I added it in my branch ;)10:25
Saviqpstolowski, ack10:26

dandraderltinkl, would you have to some time to review this one? https://code.launchpad.net/~dandrader/unity8/fixSpreadDelegateRotationAnimation/+merge/29610713:55
ltinkldandrader, yup, will do today14:02
ltinkldandrader, is there an attached BR?14:02
dandraderltinkl, BR?14:03
ltinkldandrader, or, should there be? bug report14:03
dandraderltinkl, no, and I wouldn't bother writing one.14:03
* dandrader was thinking <br>14:04
ltinkldandrader, alright, I thought this sounded similar (like I've seen a bug report about this, maybe not))14:04
dandraderltinkl, I think that just slipped through as we are not all that focused on phone nowadays14:05

dandradermzanetti, so you say it's not worth fixing this before the unified stage? https://bugs.launchpad.net/qtmir/+bug/158605014:42
ubot5Launchpad bug 1586050 in unity8 (Ubuntu) "Splashscreen icon rotates several times when app uses desktop flag X-Ubuntu-Rotates-Window-Contents=true" [High,In progress]14:42
=== dandrader is now known as dandrader|afk
mzanettidandrader|afk, not sure, no... atm the splashscreen is quite broken here anyways14:52
mzanettiwell, if it's a few lines I can easily merge it I suppose14:52
rektidehey, i upgraded from 15.04 vivid to 16.04 xenial a couple weeks back. in unity-control-center, the "Connection" toggle that each device has is disabled. this keeps me from turning off or turning on devices, and really is quite frustrating14:53
rektideis there something i can/ought/should do, might try to restore this ability to turn connections to specific devices on and off?14:53
mzanettirektide, not sure what toggle you mean14:55
rektidemzanetti: if you click a device, on the right there's a pane with details. at the top of that pane is "Connection" with an "On/Off" toggle14:57
rektidedoes that clarify?14:57
mzanettiyou mean network devices?14:57
rektideooooohh mercy, sorry, in Bluetooth devices14:58
rektidewhoops14:58
mzanettiah ok. I see it now14:58
mzanettiinteresting fact is that the same switch is still enabled in the indicators14:59
mzanettiyou probably want to report a bug14:59
rektideindicators, as in the menu bar?14:59
mzanettiyeah, the top right icons, next to the clock15:00
mzanettiperhaps #ubuntu-desktop is the better channel for this question. I think they deal with the settings app15:00
rektidegood call, thanks15:00

tsdgeosSaviq: you said OOM gets reported in syslog, right?15:51
Saviqtsdgeos, yeah, a huge table15:51
Saviqand then the result of the OOM decision15:51

mterry@unity, any cmake-heads around?  I'd like a second set of eyeballs on https://code.launchpad.net/~unity-team/unity8/installed-qmltests/+merge/293443 if anyone has time16:21
mterry@unity also, which bug is https://trello-attachments.s3.amazonaws.com/57489e534273d6c230d48c9b/540x960/341dacd6c936c5cf0545c3684a483671/screenshot20160531_170305434.png ?16:22

mterrydandrader, yeah really good connection18:17
dandraderSaviq, still working?19:16
Saviqdandrader, wassup?19:16
dandraderSaviq, are you able to reproduce this bug? https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/158621919:16
ubot5Launchpad bug 1586219 in unity8 (Ubuntu) "U1 login window opens behind pay-ui window" [Critical,In progress]19:16
Saviqdandrader, lemme check19:16
dandraderSaviq, oh, maybe it's my U1 account is already configured19:18
dandraderSaviq,  *it's because19:18
Saviqdandrader, yeah you need to kill the U1 account - I can reproduce, just seeing the spinner and "Loading, Please wait..." without end19:19
Saviqah and if you cancel, the U1 prompt is there19:19
dandraderSaviq, right. now I got it as well19:20
cyphermoxis there a way to just add a link to a web page in the Touch dashboard?20:36
Saviqcyphermox, if you want, you can create a .desktop file - alternatively you can publish a web app21:16
=== dandrader is now known as dandrader|afk
cyphermoxSaviq: cool, that's more or less what I thought21:38
cyphermoxwhere should the .desktop file be?21:38
cyphermox/usr/share/applications, I guess?21:38
Saviqcyphermox, ~/.local/share/applications if you don't need it system wide21:40
=== dandrader|afk is now known as dandrader
cyphermoxSaviq: right, the usual xdg paths21:58
cyphermoxthanks!21:58
josharensonrobert_ancell: any update on that lightdm branch that uses the new mir env variable?23:19
robert_ancelljosharenson, no, can you make me some packages of the greeter so I can test here?23:20
robert_ancellI was trying to work out how to build debs from the branch but I couldn't get it to work23:21
josharensonrobert_ancell: sure, give me 30-45 min to compile23:21
robert_ancellthanks23:21
josharensonrobert_ancell: ah, already have it built. What is the best way to share this?23:22
robert_ancellA PPA if you've got them or just email them if they work on amd64/yakkety23:22
josharensonrobert_ancell: sent (about 25MB) I'll make a ppa if I start having to change things for you23:25
robert_ancellbrb23:27
robert_ancelljosharenson, /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/51-unity8-greeter.conf has type=mir for the seat config23:39
robert_ancellmir is not a valid seat type...23:40
josharensonrobert_ancell: oh? should it be unity?23:40
robert_ancellwell, from the greeters point of view it doesn't matter, so it shouldn't have anything in there23:40
robert_ancelltype=unity is what is used on the phone where everything is run under one u-s-c23:41
robert_ancelltype=xlocal (the default) is what's used on the desktop where everything is VT switched between and there's a u-s-c run for each session that needs Mir23:41
robert_ancellI'll restart lightdm and see what happens here..23:42
josharensonrobert_ancell: so it should remain as xlocal (what it was before the most recent branch I gave you)23:42
josharensonok23:42
josharensonback in a bit23:45
robert_ancelljosharenson, the type=mir is causing your G_IS_OBJECT error23:52
robert_ancellI'm not getting the greeter to start, but there might be some other issues23:52
robert_ancellwith Mir etc23:52
