toniois there any how-to boot lubuntu from sd card?13:35
bipulwxl, Around?16:18
pilnehello all, i'm in a bit of a conundrum, and maybe i'm thinking too hard about it. I'd like to work in a qt based environment (to dev qt based apps, since i really feel qt5 is doing thing a lot more "right" than gtk3 for cross platform) and use ubuntu repos (because part of that goal is to dev for steam, and that is still what they recommend, an ubuntu base), but I can't get comfy with kubuntu, and lxqt just seems so up in the air in16:23
pilnethe ubuntu ecosystem. Is there someplace I can read and follow the progress of moving lubuntu to lxqt?16:23
pilnei found the instructions on the wiki to give it all a shot, is the minimal image or server image a "better" approach to going about it?16:37
pilnemy instinct based on reading is that the only difference is that minimal will pull everything while installing, whereas server will need an update after because it is a more "full" image.16:40
pilnei am not trying to be... difficult about this, I'd like to put my very limited abilities to use here and possibly help where I can.17:46
KyleHello quick question. There are two Lubuntu sites, which one is the official one?19:01

kilbithhello, i just installed lubuntu and i'm a bit perplex about some things : 1. why pulseaudio ain't installed by default ?  2. how to permentaly disable the touchpad through a friendly manner (GUI) ?  3. why evince is installed by default whereas it's gtk3/gnome app and doesn't suit very well to LXDE ?22:53
kilbith*permanently22:54
tewardpermanently disabling the touchpad would involve unloading the driver from the kernel, or blacklisting the driver; neither can be done via the GUI sorry22:55
tewardi have no comment on the others22:56
kilbiththen why it's possible on Gnome ?22:56
tewardare you talking about something like on Windows where you can uncheck the "Enable Touchpad" option?  In LUbuntu that GUI isn't shipped I don't believe, but not all the GUI approaches to that have the same featuresets22:58
kilbithyes, something like an horizontal "slider" that exists both on Windows and Gnome22:58
kilbithfor toggling on/off22:59
