[17:31] oh, that reminds me I need to go vote after work. [17:31] ha ha [18:15] * genii prepares https://paste.ee/r/UixRO for future use [21:42] HappyHobo> I realize I will be banned and I expect that. I respect that decision but before I do I want to apologize. [21:42] anyone knows what is going on? [21:44] chatelos [21:44] ah [21:45] @comment 72712 [21:45] May 29 2016 05:35 elky: HappyHobo [21:45] May 29 2016 05:35 elky: happyhobo!~shane@2601:5c2:300:34f0:4daa:6500:1b3f:140b [21:45] not xubuntu [21:45] May 29 2016 05:42 elky: looking for support for Chalet0S (xubuntu deriv) rather than ubuntu, got insulting when told we can't support it [21:46] I need to be banned. [21:46] cry for help [21:47] @comment 22888 [21:47] Feb 12 2010 20:58 tsimpson: (Your language is unacceptable for #ubuntu) [21:47] Feb 12 2010 20:58 tsimpson: HappyHobo1!~shane@138.210.15.240 [21:47] was already an issue in 2010 [21:48] not even asked any questions that I can see === bazhang_ is now known as bazhang [21:49] in 2010? they did [21:50] also 2010 is like 6 years ago. 2 bans in 6 years is hardly a pattern [21:59] well, apt and aptitude have different heuristics to resolve dependencies. Which one is better is anyone's guess. But every time I had to rely on aptitude's dependency resolution I got mad. [21:59] didn't aptitude get pulled as a default install component [22:00] couldn't handle multi-lib and had some problems with optional dependencies [22:00] I *think* so. But I still use synaptics, for example [22:00] hggdh: Perhaps you mean 'pkg:synaptic' and not 'pkg:synaptics'? [22:01] hggdh: You install software using your touchpad drivers? [22:01] yep, aptitude was kicked as installed package due to multiarch issues. but they say they fixed that [22:01] Unit193: ugh! indeed.. A package installed against a touchpad... [22:01] I'm sure they have, it was a while ago [22:02] Jordan_U: not the drivers, the touchpad itself (it is magic) [22:03] I wonder if #ubuntu is the best place for the extended merits discussion [22:06] bazhang: it borders the opinion range, so it is probably more indicated to -offtopic or -discuss [22:07] hggdh, agreed, but happyhobo has been asked to stop chatting and insists its part of support [22:08] perhaps a decade ago [22:14] oh tempora, oh mores [22:15] moderatin is hurtin the communiteh! [22:15] mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! [22:16] you had me at mea [22:16] heh [22:16] translation (a very free one): my bad, my bad, really my bad [22:17] yep latin === bazhang_ is now known as bazhang
