=== JanC is now known as Guest42926 === JanC_ is now known as JanC [10:22] ricotz: I packaged 367.27 in https://launchpad.net/~mamarley/+archive/ubuntu/staging/+packages but this version introduced a new dependency of the CUDA library on libnvidia-fatbinaryloader, so I had to add something to nvidia-graphics-drivers.shlibs.in to account for that. Since this is the first time I have fooled around with shlibs, I am not sure I did it right. [10:23] Also, the armhf build is still broken due to the moved/removed Vulkan ICD file, but since I don't have an ARM system for testing, I wouldn't be able to test any ARM-specific changes that I made. [11:26] mamarley, hi, oh, I have a package here as well, didnt expect you being awake yet ;) [11:26] I did it yesterday :) [11:28] mamarley, will take care of this armhf thing too [11:29] OK, sounds good [11:30] mamarley, the shlibs looks right, although I would make a bit stricter [11:30] "libnvidia-fatbinaryloader #VERSION# #DRIVERNAME# (>= #VERSION#)" [11:31] OK. This was the first time I had ever messed around with that file, so I was genuinely surprised when I got it to work at all. [11:32] I guess "man dh_shlibs" [11:32] I guess "man dh-shlibs" helps [11:33] Yep, I spent about an hour reading various documentation before I finally did get it to package. [11:33] of course deb-shlibs [11:46] mamarley, did you look for/into a patch for 4.7 yet? [12:06] nvm, will add one [16:54] mamarley: this new driver has also this spand fix ? [18:04] soee: The original patch for the NVIDIA driver was discarded. They decided to go with a patch to snapd itself instead, which makes all of us on the Graphics Drivers team very happy. :) [18:08] :) [20:40] mamarley, by any chance are you running the mainline kernels? [20:40] ricotz: I am indeed, 4.6.2 currently. [20:41] But I tested the driver against the 4.4 kernel from Xenial too. [20:41] ah was about to ask about that specific one which doesnt behave here [20:41] hmm, must be something wrong here then [20:42] did you dare to run 4.7rc3 too already? [20:43] No, I haven't tried that one yet. I usually wait until the stable release for kernels. [20:43] I usually wait until rc4 to give it a first try
