MrokiiHello. Is there a way to install pushbullet-indicator on Kubuntu 16.04? I have added the atareo-repository which contains packages for the indicator, but when I try to install it, I get the message that "pushbullet-indicator" isn't available. And it's not visible also when I look for it with Synaptic, even though the repository is definitely added successfully.08:41
konradosMorning :)08:58
konradosOn Chrome browser the font in the url bar is very small and bright. I found a similar question somewhere and the answer was that we can't change it anywhere in Chrome's settings and that this is an issue on Kubondu. In the system settings -> application appearance -> colors I changed almost everything to pure black, in ->fonts I made all fonts bigger and "bold" - nothing helped.  Do you have any idea?09:03
konradosof how to do this?09:03
YankDownUnderkonrados, Try downloading a "theme" and then changing the colours in the theme...there's plenty of "dark" themes.09:08
yossarianukhmmm driver manager seems broken again in 16.0409:09
yossarianukjust seeing 'collecting information about your system' for an infinite amount of time.09:09
MrokiiSolved the pushbullet-problem, so no answer necessary.09:11
MrokiiThough I have a technical question. It seems to me that indicators are a Gtk-technology, even though they're displayed in the Kubuntu-Panel. Is there a native (Qt instead Gtk) to achieve the same effect?09:12
hateballyossarianuk: hasnt it been broken since release?09:13
konradosYankDownUnder - thanks. Actually I don't like "dark" themes, I prefer black text on white background - but I mean *black*, not damn gray :( I have questions - you mean, that when I install a them I'll have more options? And - will I be able to turn back to my current them if it will appear a them broke more things than it made better?09:14
yossarianukhateball: no - in initial install it worked - I used it to get microcode and nvidia (after installing ubuntu-graphics ppa)09:15
hateballyossarianuk: I see09:15
hateballI just use ubuntu-drivers from the cli, as well as the PPA09:15
yossarianukjust seen new LTS nvidia driver - 367 has been released and was going to use it to switch09:15
hateballsudo apt install nvidia-367 :p09:15
yossarianuk(which if any of you lucky people have a 1070/1080 you need this version..)09:16
hateball367 is still beta afaik?09:16
yossarianukyes, i'm reverting to the cli09:16
yossarianukno09:16
hateballor did they promote it to stable with .2809:16
yossarianukits stable now09:16
hateballI see09:16
YankDownUnderkonrados, Yes, mate...it's just a matter of experimentation with different themes (light or dark), then all the "bits and bobs" amongst them...and, as well, in Chrome, you can also opt to have Chrome "theme" itself - or use the "system" theme...so, as I've found, it's merely experimentation - taking the time to muck about with all the combinations.09:16
hateballI've been running 367 a while, it's the only driver >352 that allows Magicka 2 to run09:16
yossarianukhttp://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html  -> 367.27 - latest LTS stable release09:17
yossarianukseeing as the 1070/1080 are on sale now really its a good job its stable...09:17
yossarianuknot that i'll be getting one.....09:17
hateballI'll still be a pain to newcomers, unaware of having to boot with nomodeset and adding nvidia PPA to get a working GUI at all09:18
konradosYankDownUnder thanks! btw I already spent a lot of time on this :( I can sit comfortably on my chair, but because of a few elements on my screen (mainly that url bar) I need to move my nose toward the screen :(09:19
hateballkonrados: I think there is some UI scaling switch for chromium09:20
MrokiiCould it be that Chrome uses Gtk? If that's the case one would have to change the font-size specifically for Gtk-apps in system-settings. I found that this is the case for Firefox.09:21
YankDownUnderkonrados, Coolbeans09:21
hateballMrokii: nah, chrome uses its own toolkit09:22
hateballAurora iirc09:22
MrokiiAh, okay. Just an idea.09:22
konradosMrokii,  hateball, YankDownUnder - thanks.09:24
Mrokiikonrados: I guess my suggestion won't solve your Chrome-problem, unfortunately, if Chrome uses its own toolkit.09:30
MrokiiWell, I just checked. Changing the font-size for Gtk-apps in system-settings seems to change only the fonts for the menubar and the bookmarks-bar in Chrome. But the url-bar is unchanged.09:35
yossarianukMrokii: have you tried rebooting / relogin in after changes ?09:45
Mrokiiyossarianuk: I don't think it will make a difference as the change of the font-size is working after a restart of Chrome, but only for menus and bookmarks-bar. It would be quite weird if the url-bar would only work after a reboot or relogin.10:05
yossarianukEvery time I use the Fonts DPI setting things dont look right until I restart - its worth a go anyway (its not just restarts take long now)10:08
MrokiiCould be, that's the case there as well, true.10:11
konradosHello again. I'm trying to install this: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/KNumix+Light+-+Flat+Theme?content=165849 and the install instructions, in step #4 say: "Copy folders in Decoration directory to /home/ehsan/.kde4/share/apps/aurorae/themes/" what's "ehsan"? Should I replace it with my username (I don't have such a dir). And then, even if I replaced, it appears I don't have the .kde4 dir neither. I have simply .kde - should I replace .kde410:36
konradoswith .kde?10:36
hateballkonrados: are you on 16.04? then you are not using kde 410:37
konradoshateball, 14.04 LTS10:38
hateballkonrados: ah. well yes, ~/.kde/ should be ok10:39
konradosthanks hateball!10:39
konradoshateball, now it appears I don't have the aurorae dir in /home/konrad/.kde/share/apps/ ? :(10:43
hateballkonrados: I dont have a 14.04 handy so I cant say. Is aurorae a default theme engine? otherwise it may need to be installed10:46
konradoshateball - thanks!10:49
YankDownUnderkonrados, http://www.webupd8.org/p/ubuntu-ppas-by-webupd8.html => You can add the PPA's for any of the Numix stuff10:58
konradosthank you YankDownUnder!10:58
YankDownUnderkonrados, Cheers, mate.10:58
YankDownUnderkonrados, There's also a few cool themes for KDE at: http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/?section=&global=1&q=kde10:59
YankDownUnder...worth checking out.10:59
