zc456Snapcraft doesn't seem to recognize a jar built when using ant. I tested the built jar and it does work. http://i.imgur.com/1T5YUku.png01:54

teejI see that snap can be used for all sorts of packages. Does this mean snap has the ability to eventually replace apt/apt-get/aptitude?05:04
niemeyerteej: Hey06:47
niemeyerteej: This is not a short or medium term goal, at least06:48
tsimonq2teej: snaps are NOT meant to replace apt (the project name :P) or any other packaging system07:15

szszszhi! I wanted to establish one thing: should snappy be used with sudo or not?08:23
szszszSome guides uses sudo, official on snapcraft says snap login08:23
tsimonq2szszsz: snapcraft no, snappy (which has been replaced with the snap command) most of the time yes08:27
szszsztsimonq2: I meant snap command, which is described on snapcraft main page. I have an impressions there is a difference since commands are not in user path after installing with sudo08:33
szszszor am I wrong?08:34
szszszok, I am withdrawing this. With sudo I have access to installed command within the path08:41
szszszOne more question: is there a possibility that snap could install shortcuts to unity launcher?08:42
tsimonq2can you clarify?08:43
tsimonq2like, you have the ability to launch it from Unity?08:43
szszszI would like to have it08:43
szszszI have a QT application so running it from terminal does not seem right08:44
tsimonq2yeah I think that should already be a thing, I'm not 100% sure, I don't use Unity ;)08:44
tsimonq2Alt + F2 ? :)08:44
szszszagreed, that works :]08:45
szszszbut it would be better to have nice shortcut with beatiful icon08:45
szszszI have seen a plug named unity, I will check there08:46
szszszWell, I will have to request a new plug for desktop and unity shortcuts if I this right08:52
juanrubio_at_tizquit08:52
szszszhttps://developer.ubuntu.com/en/snappy/guides/interfaces/08:52
tsimonq2szszsz: we have a unity7 pluh08:54
tsimonq2*plug08:54
szszszthat's right, but I do not know how could I write to shortcuts directory, namely /usr/share/applications/ or ~/.local/share/applications/08:56
szszszAs for the latter, I could probably use home plug08:56
szszszI will check it then and return someday in case it would not work08:57
szszsztsimonq2: thanks!08:57
szszszdetails taken from here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UnityLaunchersAndDesktopFiles08:59
popeyszszsz: yes, we already support .desktop files09:07
popeyszszsz: just put the icon and desktop file in ~/setup/gui09:07
popeysorry, in ./setup/gui - under where the snapcraft yaml is located09:07

juanrubio_at_tizHi, I'm trying to create a snap package for my project (https://github.com/tizonia/tizonia-openmax-il), and I'm finding an error when a dependency's setup.py is being run. This dependency (pycryptodome) is expecting a 'build' folder, which does not get created when everything under snapcraft...09:57
juanrubio_at_tizI believe this could be seen as a bug in pycryptodome, and I've raised and issue there (https://github.com/Legrandin/pycryptodome/issues/22)...I'm wondering if there is way to workaround this in my snapcraft.yaml09:58
ilivanybody's online? :)10:34
popeyjuanrubio_at_tiz: iliv it's often quiet around here at weekends, sorry11:35

KNROHello, I am trying to make a snap package for my app, but couldn't figure out how to use breeze icon theme16:22
KNROI modified qt5-launch to have export Qt_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=kde16:22
MichaelTunnellDoes anyone have a link to the documentation explaining "all-snap" I found the doc for the Transactional A/B which discusses all-snap here https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/blob/master/docs/system-updates.md18:05
MichaelTunnellI previously found a github issue on the topic explaining it but that issue has since been deleted so the details are gone18:05
MichaelTunnellmostly my question is: does all-snap keep the transactional updates in some way to facilitate the snap rollbacks?18:06
