[04:01] hey Bashing-om [04:02] Bashing-om: yep, ive started the paperwork [04:02] Bashing-om: logo is being built, website also [04:04] Ya been a busy little boy ! No idle mind there :) [04:07] :p [05:21] Closing down for this session; Yall have fun without me, K ? [06:37] morning all! [10:13] good afternoon [10:14] hi lotuspsychje [10:14] hey ducasse how are you? [10:14] good, and you? [10:14] fine, tnx my logo is being created :p [10:14] cool :) [10:14] domain is also preserved [10:15] for start it will be only in dutch [10:15] when i gain more popularity ill add english later [10:17] hey EriC^^ [10:19] do you expect to start exporting machines eventually? [10:19] ducasse: you mean to other countries? [10:19] lotuspsychje: yes [10:20] ducasse: sure, why not im not going to bound it only local [10:21] ducasse: i just wanna wait how popular it will be or not at the start, cause english website will cost me more also [10:21] why? [10:21] Ben64: its a hosting company i know [10:22] seems like just have site.com/en/ or something [10:22] Ben64: but it would need translating right? [10:23] yeah, but i think you know english [10:23] yes, but im not the one building the website [10:23] oh [10:23] its with webshop etc, so bit complicated [10:25] lemme show you the created logo [10:26] http://oi65.tinypic.com/jsyagw.jpg [10:27] that's pretty cool, lotuspsychje :) [10:27] tnx ducasse [10:27] kind of similar to a chinese place i got a flyer for today\ [10:27] mean re-source your computer [10:28] ill set the focus on converting old machines to ubuntu + ssd [10:30] lotuspsychje: when do you expect the website to be up? [10:31] ducasse: 1 month i think [10:31] im also doing alot of paperwork aswell [10:32] legal stuff [10:32] did you have to get the ok from ubuntu [10:35] Ben64: ive tryed to contact canonical and theyve sent me a default page [10:35] so didnt get too far yet on that [10:36] lemme see if i can refind the mail [10:36] for using the logo+name, or for setting up computers with ubuntu? [10:37] both [10:37] think i need something like system76's disclaimer [10:38] https://system76.com/disclaimer [10:39] explaining the ubuntu logo is not part of my business, etc [10:42] now that they want money from vps providers i guess they could try something similar for those who sell ubuntu computers... [10:43] well i dont mind paying canonical, but i just dont want troubles afterwards [10:43] its ubuntu i need on the machines, so i wont bypass saying its a linux Os lol [10:44] http://www.ubuntu.com/about/contact-us [10:44] i'm not sure i think you *should* have to pay them, but that's a different discussion... [10:44] think thats a trademark issue? [10:45] ducasse: depends how canonical thinks about using ubuntu's logo/name on my site [10:45] for use of the trademark, yes. but you won't be saying you represent them, will you? [10:45] no [10:46] but pictures of hardware might show the ubuntu desktop/logo/name [10:46] i honestly don't know how that works. [10:47] ill try to resend an email [10:53] sended [10:57] argh, i need to install a new cpu cooler today on my desktop, and i'm so not looking forward to it. [10:59] ducasse: why's that? [11:00] lotuspsychje: need to disassemble just about everything, it's a really big noctua thing. [11:00] oh thats a pain indeed [11:01] plus, i'm always nervous about breaking something expensive, when fiddling around the cpu [11:02] is it own build or brand box? [11:02] own build, i buildt it last summer. [11:03] cool [11:04] ducasse: ive placed a new cpu cooler kina like noctua on my abit mobo aswell [11:04] with speed tuning at front [11:05] my case has a fan speed thing at the back, but i just keep it at full. it's so quiet anyway... [11:05] yeah i also like full speed [11:06] i'm using the stock intel cooler now, and it gets hot under full load. i rarely run the cpu at full tilt, but want to be able to, for encoding video and such. [11:06] i see [11:10] i've got a load of dvd's i want to watch on my rpi, so i need to rip+encode them. on the stock cooler the cpu goes up to 80°C. [11:10] wow [11:10] ducasse: playing with handbrake? [11:10] yes :) [11:11] ducasse: never tested it myself, how long does a rip take? [11:11] 80° is not dangerous, but it's not beneficial either. on my 4790K a rip of a full length movie takes about 15-20 mins, i think. [11:12] cool [11:12] i messed with rmvb rips in the past [11:13] to get small rips [11:14] rmvb? *googles* [11:15] i could get a 700mb into like 200-300mb rip with rmvb [11:16] that's not bad, but i just use h.264. might switch to h.265 when i get a media box that supports it properly. [11:16] disk is cheap :) [11:16] yeah [11:17] what's the quality like of rmvb? [11:18] ducasse: not too bad, but that depends wich quality your used to [11:19] it's just surprising they can leave so much data out if the quality is not to go down [11:21] didnt test on ubuntu, think it was a win prog to rip to rmvb [11:51] hey lotuspsychje === \9_ is now known as \9 [12:56] Hi folks [12:57] \o === pauljw_ is now known as pauljw
