(which is a link to GPL-3 nowadays) [17:08] apw, ^^^ [17:08] i guess debian/copyright could need some love across the board [17:21] ogra_, ack [21:41] How to maintain a patched kernel? [21:42] I just went thru the process of bisecting kernels, reporting a regression on launchpad and then reporting the regression to kernel.org. [21:42] After a few days working with the developer, he was able to make a change that fixed the regression (from v4.2.8 btw). [21:45] Now I would like to maintain a xenial (4.4.x) kernel with that patch. Is there a recommended process? Something like the way dkms is used to update nvidia modules when there's a kernel update? [21:47] FWIW, here's the launchpad bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1603230 [21:47] Launchpad bug 1603230 in linux (Ubuntu) "acpi regression first bad commit 02b771b64b73226052d6e731a0987db3b47281e9" [Medium,Triaged] [21:48] And here's the upstream bug report: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135691 [21:48] bugzilla.kernel.org bug 135691 in EC "EC parallelism: parallel _Qxx evaluation problems" [Normal,Resolved: code_fix]
