Laneypkern: I can do, or we can re-backport from a later series08:05
Laneypkern: (but I would have just been executing the backport for somebody else - in Ubuntu the actual backports team always ends up in Changed-By)08:07
LocutusOfBorghi doko how do you feel about a cython sync?08:13
LocutusOfBorgor xnox08:14
LocutusOfBorglittle bit worried about s390x08:14
LocutusOfBorgmmm segfault (ICE) on ppc64el08:18
LocutusOfBorgI can't test s390x08:18
alf_Hi all! I am seeing unexpected behavior with a systemd service we have for the repowerd package. The repowerd.service file 'Requires' another service which is missing on the desktop and thus repowerd.service correctly fails when trying to start it manually. However (this is the unexpected part), on system start-up the repowerd service actually starts without error, it seems like this dependency is ignored. Any idea what could be going on?08:23
LocutusOfBorghi, how can I programmatically retry all the builds of a particular package? I admit the web interface is not the best one to retrigger builds08:59
cjwatsonLocutusOfBorg: ubuntu-build --batch --retry <package> (from ubuntu-dev-tools)09:15
cjwatsonslightly weird CLI, not my fault :)09:15
LaneyShould probably make a release of ubuntu-dev-tools09:17
LaneyFor https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-dev/ubuntu-dev-tools/trunk/revision/144909:17
xnoxmy LED screens flicker09:19
xnoxis that a property of 16.04 LTS, or my dodge screens / graphics card?09:19
cjwatsonI would not be sad, I just didn't have effort for a release09:19
* xnox ponders if I am suffering from cross-talk09:20
cjwatsonprobably09:21
LocutusOfBorgthanks cjwatson :) that ubuntu-dev-tools impresses me each time more09:28
mwhudsonxnox: i have that a bit, intel graphics?09:31
xnoxmwhudson, yeap09:32
mwhudsonxnox: much more noticeable on displayport but i think it still happens on hdmi09:34
mwhudsonnothing in dmesg when it happens09:37

LocutusOfBorgbad ubuntu-build! why you don't give back s390x?10:02
* LocutusOfBorg pulls the new ubuntu-dev-tools10:03
cjwatsonLocutusOfBorg: Oh yeah, possibly should have warned you about that10:04
LaneyLocutusOfBorg: I could have highlighted you then, sorry10:04
LocutusOfBorgno need to be sorry! I like to learn :)10:05
Laneyi'll make a note to upload that to Debian (or you can)10:05
LocutusOfBorgand the code is pretty obvious10:05

jtaylorhm there seems to be a problem in boot ordering with iscsi in 16.0412:10
jtaylorit tries to mount the disk before starting the iscsi daemon12:11
LocutusOfBorgI know12:11
jtaylorthough it seems to still work as it times out and tries again later12:11

Mirvdoko: any news on the --secure-plt problem on powerpc? it does not seem to be specified on the g++ line, so it's coming from some defaults.12:29
dokoMirv, yes, gcc is configured with --enable-secureplt12:37
Mirvdoko: so it should be disabled for powerpc? is there ETA for a fixed build or a workaround to get a package to build on powerpc meanwhile?12:38
dokoMirv, what are you trying to "fix"?12:38
Mirvdoko: getting the "/usr/bin/ld.gold: --secure-plt: unknown option" on powerpc12:39
dokoMirv, don't use gold on powerpc12:39
Mirvdoko: ok, so something like -Wl,-fuse-ld=ld could work before finding where to remove gold usabe more generally on powerpc?12:40
dholbachdoko, I commented on the bug12:41
dokoMirv, well, where do you enable gold, it's not enabled by default12:41
dokodholbach, ta12:42
Mirvdoko: yes, I'll find the core place too, but right now I'm trying to get one package built. probably qtbase's mkspecs.12:42
Mirvdoko: anyway, if you don't have a workaround to suggest, thanks anyway for suggesting to disable gold on powerpc so that I can find that place12:46
dokoMirv, passing -Wl,-fuse-ld=ld doesn't guarantee that it is passed in the correct order ...12:47
LocutusOfBorgdholbach, any idea for gnutls28? I can't really reproduce locally12:56
LocutusOfBorgretrying with parallel builds12:56
dholbachLocutusOfBorg, no, me neither12:56

xnoxi see some build failures with segfaults due to gtest13:16
Laneyxnox: even with the alleged fix?13:32
LocutusOfBorgdholbach, never saw it13:33
xnoxhm, i shall re-check if it has already been retried with updated gtest. i thought it was.13:33
LocutusOfBorglet me triple check something13:34
dholbachLocutusOfBorg, I was wondering if it came up in any other bug report before13:35
LocutusOfBorgI got probably the failure13:45
LocutusOfBorglet me see13:45
dokoxnox, seen in more than one package?13:45
xnoxyes, gtest itself and one of its reverse deps13:45
xnoxso far i'm not much help13:46
xnoxfixed dbus-cpp & that should fix biometryd13:46
LocutusOfBorghi arm*, do you want pretty please start building stuff?14:26
hjdhttps://launchpadlibrarian.net/276634687/buildlog_ubuntu-yakkety-amd64.openhft-lang_6.7.6-1_BUILDING.txt.gz is a build failure with an odd failing test.17:55
hjdIt might be a flaky test, because I've rebuilt locally because while I have been able to trigger it, when I tried to investigate more, it built successfully.17:56
hjdAny suggestions?17:57
jbichayeah I saw that test, now is not now18:01
jbichaI don't have any advice on it though18:02
