RosikaHello. I have got a problem with my web-stick:  I can establish connection alright, but after a certain time (rather irregularly) it disconnects.  As roaming is allowed switching between UMTS and HSDPA occurs from time to time. I don´t know whether this is the cause of my problems.  Does anybody know of a possibility to set 2G or 3G as fixed by using the terminal?13:40

capum321does lubuntu comes with redshift?21:54
wxlcapum321: apt-cache policy <package> will tell you if something is installed21:55
wxlcapum321: doubt it, though.21:55
capum321apparently is21:55
wxlwell your install has it :)21:56
capum321how one automate its enable on boot?21:56
capum321wxl your not?21:56
wxlsheesh i don't even have it on this kubuntu install21:56
capum321ok21:58
wxli have an older xenial laying around and it doesn't21:59
capum321which distro?21:59
wxllubuntu22:00
capum321i have the redshift package, not redshift-gtk22:00
capum321how could I automate it's color temp transiction?22:00
wxli don't have either22:00
wxlyou want to start this on boot of the desktop?22:00
capum321i think the color temp transiction works when you run `redshift`. i guess22:01
capum321so i should run it every boot time22:01
wxlit's x11 so probably needs to run everytime the desktop boots22:02
wxlhttps://askubuntu.com/questions/159008/how-to-add-startup-applications-in-lubuntu22:02
capum321there is no cfg file located at default location22:02
capum321wxl thanks22:24
wxlnp capum32122:31
capum321wxl can i insert a full command for example, `redshift -l 55:12` in lxsession edit ?22:37
wxlcapum321: should be able to. quote it if necessary. you can also see if redshift doesn't have a conf file of some kind and set it there to be default22:39
capum321the bin will detect if I manually create it?22:42
wxlif it's set to22:42
wxlcheck the man page22:42
wxlit seems to refer to it http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/xenial/en/man5/redshift.5.html22:43
capum321much better. I was looking the other man page22:47
capum321wxl how to apply the .conf settings?23:00
wxlcapum321: no clue!23:00
capum321what would be the generic way?23:01
wxli'd cross reference the arch docs https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Redshift23:01
capum321the brightness script work for ubuntu?23:07
wxlhaving never even used the tool you have, i can't really say with certainty23:11
capum321sorry, i mean regarding the .sh script itself, does the commands are correct? it's all linux afterall shell script right?23:13
wxlhowever, if you mean https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Redshift#Use_real_screen_brightness then, assuming you have xbacklight (which i think everyone does), yes23:13
wxloh i'm wrong it's optional23:13
wxl!info xbacklight | capum32123:13
ubottucapum321: xbacklight (source: xbacklight): simple utility to set the backlight level. In component universe, is optional. Version 1.2.1-1build1 (xenial), package size 7 kB, installed size 24 kB23:13
wxlthe rest is all standard shell stuff23:13
capum321i have it23:14
capum321but read above...23:14
capum321ok23:14
capum321thanks23:14
wxllike i said, if you mean https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Redshift#Use_real_screen_brightness and you have xbacklight, then yes23:14
capum321i can't tell the screen looks well displayed with its lights...23:15
