[04:33] hey doing a reinstall. Should I grab 16.10? I need to use the SDK, and last time I checked about a year back, unity8 wasn't able to run it. [04:46] * valorie has been running Kubuntu 16.10 for months, and it's great [04:46] dunno anything about unity though === JanC is now known as Guest86015 === JanC_ is now known as JanC [19:40] hi, i would like to update from 16.04 to 16.10 but do-release-upgrade -d tells me there is no upgrade - any idea? [19:47] !upgradeofflts | tete_ [19:47] tete_: To upgrade from an LTS release of Ubuntu to the next (non-LTS) release, run sudoedit /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades and change the prompt= line to "prompt=normal". Then, do sudo do-release-upgrade to begin the upgrade. [19:48] not sure if do-release-upgrade is open for +1 yet, but if it is, you'll need to do that [19:48] yes, looking at the release prompt is a god hint [19:49] thanks, thought -d is especially to skip the release-upgrades config file [19:51] -d makes do-release-upgrade check the list of available versions that includes not-recommended upgrades such as development releases [19:51] there's four files. two for lts, two for regular, based on the prompt= value. and then within those two, one is -devel and one is not based on -d being there or not [19:52] which is probably more info than you want, but yeah, you'd need both changed to go 16.04 to 16.10 right now [19:55] worked, thanks === Elimin8r is now known as Elimin8er === dax is now known as barista === barista is now known as dax
