[00:06] hello [00:07] I just upgraded and restarted and my monitor configuration got messed up. I fixed it and restarted it again and it was still messed up, and even now that I fixed it again, if I right click on the clock on the bottom-right of the screen, the menu appears at the top-left, and if I hover on it the popup appears on the bottom-left of the other monitor [00:07] and with messed up I mean mirrored displayed with lower resolution instead of side-by-side with correct resolution [00:08] how can I fix this and make sure it remembers it for the next reboot? [00:09] I've also been having some redrawing issues, especially when I minimize or maximize windows, not sure if it's related [00:55] I've succeeded in upgrading the OS to the version 16.04 with kubuntu Plasma. Fonts are so small I can't use it. Got a fix? === vick is now known as Guest53104 [03:57] hi [03:57] someone can help me? can't connect to the irc-hispano network using konversation [03:58] what could be causing the problem? === james is now known as Guest64876 [05:23] Is there like a planned features roadmap for 16.10 somewhere? I can only find the release roadmap [05:24] Tried the latest nightly and it still has quite old packages [05:24] Getting a bit tired of these issues with dual monitors [05:52] **A wild momoe appears!!** [05:52] Good evening/morning everyone [05:53] So KDE Connect has finally reached 1.0 version, this past week. [05:53] And I was wondering who to poke about getting the update going for Kubuntu's update manager. [05:55] https://albertvaka.wordpress.com/2016/08/26/kde-connect-1-0-is-here/ [05:57] momoe: I would guess someone in #kubuntu-devel [05:58] kk, thx hateball [06:26] So another dunce question here, but does the search field in Kubuntu's Discover center ever work for anyone? [06:27] I never get any results when using it, since day 1. [06:27] Example searching for "blender" would return no results even though it's right there on the start page [06:30] momoe: are you fully updated? [06:31] Seems to work here at least (first time I tried it now) [06:31] I should be fully updated [06:32] Here's an example http://imgur.com/a/obIvA [06:33] weird [06:33] I've no idea how it is supposed to work, sadly [06:34] "No I," said the fly. ^_^; [06:34] one ould assume it's supposed to list all relvent results when entering full or partial names. but nothing. [06:37] hateball: how is your experience with that search field? Do you get any results? [06:37] momoe: as I said, it works for me [06:37] I have only tried it this once [06:37] I am using kubuntu backports ppa [06:38] no idea if discover is backported also [06:39] kk, thx just needed a reference. I'll eventually be going for a clean install in the near future. maybe on 16.04.1 === Guest58577 is now known as Haudegen [09:01] hateball: there should be some fresh isos now :) [09:02] acheronuk: \o/ [09:37] hello. Is there any way use to multi display configuration (laptop screen + external screen) with proprietary Nvidia driver on Kubuntu 16.04? [09:38] my conf is intel graphics 4000 + Nvidia 635GT [09:39] zamazan4ik: Yes, but stock kubuntu and multimonitor is rather broken [09:39] zamazan4ik: So using the kubuntu backports ppa is probably what you want to do first [09:39] it's not flawless after that either, sadly [09:41] works fine here [09:41] kde/plasma multimonitor support is very much a work in progress for many cards [09:42] plasma 5.8 now seems to be the main target for ironing out most kinks [09:44] \o/ live cd http://i.imgur.com/WeG5llR.png [09:45] is that a daily? [09:46] ahoneybun: yes [09:47] nice [09:47] got the building of them fixed and and restarted earlier [09:48] I haven't tried the installer yet [09:49] you know how the slideshow will be like [09:50] absent! [09:50] cool - its behind neon though (its using 5.7.4) ... Is 15.10 aiming for plasma 5.8 ? [09:50] well of course it's behind Neon [09:50] they follow no schecule like us [09:51] *unlike [09:51] yossarianuk: besides we had Qt 5.6 and plasma 5.7.2 stuck in proposed for best part of a month, then immediately got the feature freeze when they finally go unstuck [09:52] sure. Which is why i'm sticking to kubuntu for work machines [09:55] yossarianuk: I'm trying to keep the kubuntu CI chugging along at about parity with neon, but plasma 5.8 will be too late for yakkety [09:57] that is a shame.... really it would be good if 16.04 LTS upgrading to plasma 5.8 LTS (but I know that will not happen..) [09:57] *upgraded* [09:57] yossarianuk: hoping for that via backports [09:58] it goes against the release cycle [09:58] as LTS plasma would be a great ppa backport for LTS xenial [09:58] acheronuk: how much changes are allowed for a point release? [09:59] just not anywhere near the main repos [09:59] I know, in some ways its a shame you have to stick to ubuntu's cycle in many ways - at least 16.04+backports is serving me well at present... [09:59] ahoneybun: not sure, but not anywhere near that much I think [09:59] mm [10:00] acheronuk: hopefully soon snaps can clean some of this up [10:02] they will help, certainly if the can get the whole shared resourse thing sorted [10:07] the latest applications on 16.04 base [10:08] I just care about kdenlive lol === User9812 is now known as User9810 [11:20] Hiyas all === claydoh is now known as Guest2895 [12:43] I get a bug on 16.04.1 where the mouse points to a pixel next to the pointer, not where it is actually pointing at.
