PCdudeI am installing openstack and during the install on a Ubuntu machine I get the following error log07:31
PCdudehttp://pastebin.com/raw/A7qtJm4v07:33
PCdudethere is apparently an deployment timeout, but where can I see more information on why it did that or how can I solve it?07:34

marcoceppiPCdude: that's a question for stokachu when he's around, I'm not sure why the cloud-installer is bailing like that.10:51
marcoceppiPCdude: have you tried `conjure-up` instead?10:51
stokachuPCdude, timeout usually means something isn't setup properly with MAAS11:01
stokachuPCdude, are you able to deploy a node via maas web ui?11:02

rick_h_jcastro: sounds like a party13:04
jcastropar-tay13:05
pragsmikei'm looking forward to it13:09
pragsmikeright now I'm hoping someone can help me figure out why my LXC containers end up on the lxdbr0 bridge, rather than the one Juju creates for them13:13
pragsmikeI'm running MAAS 2.0, Juju 2 beta1713:14
marcoceppirick_h_: is there anyone who can help out with this ^^?13:16
rick_h_pragsmike: sure thing, frobware can you help out pragsmike ^13:16
frobwarerick_h_: otp13:16
rick_h_frobware: rgr, we'll be patient13:17
frobware:)13:17
marcoceppirick_h_: I usually poke dimitern but I don't see him online ;)13:17
rick_h_marcoceppi: yea, there's a public holiday on his end today13:18
marcoceppiah, cool, always good to get some time off13:22
pragsmikejuju status in http://pastebin.com/y0fsc6dc  The container's "dns-name" is on 10.0.0.x, which is lxdbr0's DHCP space, but the host machine is 192.168.57.x, where I think the container also ought to wind up13:37
rick_h_pragsmike: in maas juju allows the containers to grab dns space so that they can have their own interfaces on the same address space so things like expose and the like work properly13:39
rick_h_pragsmike: this prevents any routing issues between containers on different hosts13:40
rick_h_pragsmike: actually, that's what you're saying...you expected the container to get a 192 address from the maas dhcp space vs a 10. from the lxd bridge?13:41
pragsmikeyes13:41
pragsmikeas an experiment I replaced the container interfaces with ones that bridged to the br-eno1 bridge on the host, and everything worked fine13:42
pragsmikethe apps could reach each other even if they were in containers on different hosts13:42
pragsmikebecause they all got seen by MAAS, which DHCP'ed them and made them DNS-resolvable13:43
rick_h_macgreagoir: can you please link your pr in the kanban card for your review item?13:43
rick_h_frobware: voidspace +1 ^13:44
PCdudestokachu: yes I am able to deploy a node from MAAS itself. I even checked ssh'ed in and checked that networking is fully functional. Everything is working like it should be.13:56
rick_h_macgreagoir: voidspace natefinch ping for standup14:01
voidspacerick_h_: crap, sorry - I thought we weren't having it today as everyone was out14:15
voidspacerick_h_: forgot you were back :-)14:15
voidspacerick_h_: I'm just off to fetch my girl from school, will ping you when I get back14:15
frobwaremarcoceppi: ping; i scheduled a call to talk about hostnames for charms. would be better to punt this at corey?14:22
frobwarepragsmike: it's possible that you are running into bug #156679114:40

voidspacerick_h_: back14:49
rick_h_voidspace: howdy14:49
voidspacerick_h_: the migration work is up for review and I'm back on my bug14:49
voidspacerick_h_: hey, howdy14:49
voidspacerick_h_: how was the trip?14:49
rick_h_voidspace: k, can you ping menno for someone from migrations to do the review?14:49
rick_h_voidspace: good stuff, naigara falls is impressive, and lots to do around there. The VA mountains are nice, and elevation = cooling which was welcome14:50
voidspacerick_h_: will do14:50
rick_h_voidspace: though 3k ft isn't exactly super high and such14:50
voidspacerick_h_: I've seen the falls briefly (at night) but not the mountains14:50
voidspacerick_h_: heh14:50
voidspacerick_h_: about as high as we get in the UK...14:50
rick_h_it's enough to privde a scenic backdrop while you sit at the winery and 'test' things out14:50
rick_h_and for a few mile hikes for the family to go on and get some pictures14:51
voidspacerick_h_: that's a funny US/UK difference - winery is a very American word. We only ever say vineyard.14:52
voidspacerick_h_: I love walking out in nature, about my favourite thing to do.14:52
rick_h_voidspace: oh heh yea that works as well I guess.14:52
voidspacerick_h_: we had a great time in the Romanian mountains this summer14:52
rick_h_voidspace: yea, had a nice mix of hiking some of the appalacian trail, kayak/canoe the james river, and drive through the skyline drive14:53
rick_h_voidspace: very cool, dad enjoy it?14:53
voidspacerick_h_: Dad? we went with my Dad to cornwall this year. Not many mountains there :-)14:54
voidspacerick_h_: and it rained14:54
voidspacerick_h_: which is why I don't go on holiday in the UK...14:54
rick_h_oh, thought you took your dad to the mountains14:54
rick_h_sorry, wrong holiday14:54
voidspaceno, unfortunately not14:54
voidspaceI'd love to, but he's a bit too frail now :-(14:54
voidspacerick_h_: first day back at the coalface treating you ok?14:55
voidspacerick_h_: everything slipped into chaos in your absence14:55
voidspacerick_h_: fighting each other with sticks and rocks on IRC14:55
voidspaceproper lord of the flies stuff...14:56
rick_h_voidspace: hah! so what you're saying is that everyone's much more engaged so I should go back into the mountains?14:56
voidspacerick_h_: hehe, that wasn't quite what I meant...14:56
* rick_h_ has to try to twist it 14:56
voidspaceyour descriptions are making me want to go back to mountains though :-/14:56
voidspaceah well, next year14:57
rick_h_no emails about calling the cops so can't be too bad14:57
voidspace:-)14:57
marcoceppifrobware: I'll be there shortly15:06
marcoceppifrobware: call running late, but invite cory_fu as well :)15:06

pragsmikeguys I have to go onsite elsewhere for a few hours, I'll be off IRC meanwhile15:18

cholcombeis it ok if a hook takes some long amount of time to complete?  like 10 mins or more?18:56
rick_h_cholcombe: think so, no limit to the hook exec I know of tbh.19:09
cholcomberick_h_, ok cool19:12
rick_h_cholcombe: the one thing I can think of is charm testing timing out because a hook took too long to complete19:14
cholcomberick_h_, yeah i'll have to hack something for the test19:15
hatchis it normal that I ran remove-application and it also removed the subordinate?19:28
hatchit was the only application related to that subordinate19:28
PCdudeI get the following error during "juju bootstrap": http://askubuntu.com/questions/717803/openstack-install-problem-with-juju-bootstrap/718820#71882019:35
rick_h_hatch: sure, the subordinate can't live outside of the thing it's on19:37
hatchrick_h_: understood, but removing it from the applications list? Does this mean that if it was related to other applications it would have stayed around?19:38
hatchwhen a real application has 0 units does it also get removed from the list?19:38
hatchI don't think so19:38
hatchrick_h_: from the GUI when you remove an application it doesn't also remove the subordinate20:23
hatchso the CLI and GUI have slightly different functionalities here20:24
rick_h_hatch: :P ok we'll have to look into it and settle it out20:24
hatchlet the battle begin!20:25

hatchlol!20:25
* rick_h_ isn't sure which way to swing it though...for or against keeping it aroudn20:25
hatchmy preference is to keep it around - I understand why it does it, but because it keeps it around if it's related to another application20:26
hatchit makes it a little inconsistent20:26
