[10:50] morning [10:50] wb rick_h_ [10:50] morning and ty [10:51] how was the excursion / tour? [10:52] it was good, naigara falls is pretty cool and there's a lot of fun stuff to do there [10:53] nice [10:53] and the annual family visit down to VA is nice. That's a good area with lots to get out and check out [10:53] now I'm just in major pain heh. deck was finishes while I was away so back from the trip lots of deck staining and prep and now have a deck again [10:59] woo woo! [11:02] did I miss anything exciting while I was away? [11:16] not much [11:16] Arts Beats and Eats meant that the Bean and Leaf closed early (8:30pm) [11:16] so we moved over to Atomic, which was decent [11:16] But that was the highlight [12:05] First bad thing about ting. No visual voicemail on GSM. Still worth it to [12:05] save 40-50/mo [13:06] Visual Voicemail = ? [13:06] Oh, I use Google Voice for my voicemail so I never noticed. [13:10] iphones have this voicemail tab and rather than dial a number to hear your voicemail, each voicemails shows in a UI in a list. It is a great feature. Has been there since day 1 w/ATT [13:10] right [15:31] g'morn [15:31] g'morn and all that [15:32] jrwren: I *think* that's an option if you use cdma/sprint towers [15:41] Yeah, they had something like that (which I never used) [15:41] iirc it was a pay service though [15:42] https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/articles/205422008-Voicemail [15:51] greg-g: yeah, that is what the help docs said, but I went GSM for other reasons. [15:51] Mostly because GSM works [15:51] CDMA isn't great in this area [15:52] Not sure if new phone or what but I'm more happy with this phone than my previous one [15:58] cdma is surprisingly good out here, all things told [15:58] that's the only thing I'm still not sure on, though, is cdma vs gsm for my replacement phone [15:58] haven't had time to really think/look at the maps in more detail [15:58] greg-g: International Travel [15:59] yeah, meh [15:59] GSM is the only option there [15:59] I've been fine without a real phone when traveling int, mostly because I don't stray far from a group :) [15:59] phones do both now, so for international, you just buy a sim when you get there, right? [16:00] that part was unclear to me when reading the docs on ting [17:51] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgxYUHHtOHo [17:52] lol
