[00:07] nvm that works [00:10] I can't seem to find chrome in any menu [00:10] even after installing it [00:13] WOW LP download speeds are bad [00:13] LP = bad [00:13] lol [00:14] well my script it downloading a snap file from LP and it's taking forever [00:14] even with my connection [00:14] its like a 150 mb file [00:16] Ooh boi, you got a good connection? [00:16] I do [00:16] :P [00:16] What's the numbers? [00:16] why can't we get a way to search for snaps in different channels! [00:19] Don't you know how to file a bug? [00:19] Do you not know how to file a bug? I'll be happy to show you... Lol [00:19] /me keeps comment to self [00:20] Seriously, you you talk about these bugs all day in this channel but really, do you file then in Launchpad? [00:20] I'd be better if you linked to bugs :) [00:21] (speech to text, excuse the double you) [00:24] @ahoneybun, You don't want to learn? I can teach you. I'll be happy to. :P [00:24] Oh I know [00:25] Mm [00:25] you just keep going on and on [00:25] @ahoneybun, Clive once called me the Energizer bunny [00:25] So what? [00:25] I'm not being mean [00:26] I'm not starting anything [00:26] I'm just saying [00:26] about 3 times I believe [00:26] Launchpad bugs might get more attention :) [00:26] /me mutes eyes and prays to the demon [00:29] @ahoneybun, Are you mad at ME? [00:29] I'm only trying to help [00:29] Lol [00:29] dude I left -devel over it [00:30] Fine, don't take my help [00:30] Jeez [00:31] /me vents and gets over it [00:31] wait how did you get permission to edit the topic? [00:31] It's open for anyone to edit it ahoneybun [00:32] that does not seem right [00:33] Don't close access, I need access just in case I need to edit it in the future [00:33] For ninja stuff [00:34] if we did only KC and developers should have access, I think [00:34] imo [00:34] Well ninjas too [00:34] Remember, Clive is still just a ninja [00:34] mm I disagree [00:34] he can just report to a KC member to do it [00:34] We all have to edit it for transitions [00:35] Well that's tedious [00:35] ahoneybun: chill out, sleep on it, then ask the KC [00:35] (my advice) [00:35] I'm not doing anything atm [00:36] plus it would be a group decision anyway [00:36] Ok [00:36] Fine [00:36] Yeah [00:37] * ahoneybun wonders why that snap package was not installed [00:39] for the record about the snap channel issue, it's been pointed out to people already [03:32] The new KDE store will have snaps [03:33] And flatpak and app-something [03:33] ooh :D [03:33] Until the winner emerges, I guess [03:34] surgery tomorrow [03:34] I can't eat after midnight [03:34] so for bragging rights I'm eating something at 11:59 PM :P [03:35] @Valoriez any suggestions for something small? [03:35] :P [03:36] Kwrite? [03:36] no for something to eat :P [03:36] Although I think that is supplied on most systems [03:36] An apple [03:37] good idea, although idk if I have that... [03:37] Come to think of it, I might eat one too [03:37] Am at the airport much too early [03:38] Gate isn't even assigned yet [03:38] (Photo, 1280x1024) https://irc-attachments.kde.org/u8YGaBOx/file_421.jpg [03:39] oh good morning [03:39] lol [03:40] (Photo, 1280x1024) https://irc-attachments.kde.org/2z7DgaKW/file_423.jpg [03:40] oh that's right I have that too :P [03:42] Yup, still living in the future. [13:50] jimarvan: I have surgery today [13:50] fun stuff :/ [13:52] With yesterday's 64-bit daily ISO in a VM. I get a blank screen with a black breeze cursor, but nothing happens. I can to get a tty, and can login with kubuntu and an empty password and then sudo poweroff, so I guess the OS loads but not Plasma. However, again using yesterday's ISO, I tried starting it in a new VM just after a cold boot of my physical HW. I guess the disk load was heavier so I got the in [13:56] I tried todays iso earlier, and it all worked. Install and boot to plasma desktop from the hd after [13:57] I could just be getting lucky though [14:05] tsimonq2: hope it goes well :( [14:05] What seemes funny to me is that when things are slow (either my little netbook or my overloaded MS-Windows host that had just booted), I get the try/install dialog, but when things are fast, I go straight to a live session, and that is where I got the blank screen with the black breeze cursor in a VM, but a perfectly functional live session (with favorites) on decent physical HW. [14:06] hmm [14:07] marco-parillo: I had that issue too a couple months ago with yakkety on a VM [14:14] thanks jimarvan [14:15] jimarvan: Is there a bug report I can me-too? [14:17] hmm [14:17] this is what I am trying to recall because I am sure there was some kind of bug involving VM especially for the startup [14:17] I will have a look later on, closing office right now :) [15:54] tsimonq2: when you do manage to get back on here, have you done qtwebchannel, qtwebengine & qtserialport 5.7 for xenial KCI somewhere? I don't see them at all? a lot of things won't build without those [15:55] tsimonq2: and have you tested whether an updated version of pyqt5 is needed? it certainly was for yakkety KCI [15:55] Hi [15:55] Spotty reception but still on the way [15:55] no probs [15:55] I'm doing those three now in a PPA [15:56] QtChannel and QtWebEngine should be good to go [15:57] But QtSerialPort still needs an upload [15:57] tsimonq2: fair enough. I thought you had gone to be honest, and was querying for when you got back. and before I forgot [15:57] If you want, you can create a PPA of your own and set mine as a dep [15:57] Then get QtSerialPort good to go [15:57] Otherwise I'll do it later (assuming I'm sane enough :P) or tomorrow [15:58] I remembered ;) [15:58] I'll see later. I uploaded the last few last time for YY, so can no doubt do the same if you want me to [15:59] OK [15:59] We'll see :) [16:00] acheronuk: I think I messed up the QtWebEngine upload :/ [16:01] define 'messed up' [16:01] Deps [16:01] Help lol [16:01] I'm not at my computer [16:01] If you could just finish those two that would be 👍 [16:02] I'll take a look in a bit. [16:03] Thanks [16:04] repeating what I did for YY *should* get it done fairly painlessly. I hope [16:04] Cool :) [16:04] We need a script [16:04] Lol [16:05] Qt mess about with stuff too much I think. You'd spend as much time fixing the script each release. :P [16:06] Well at least I'd be automatic [16:07] :P [16:07] I fix it once and it just does all the things [16:08] you probably have more faith in these things working than I do [16:11] tsimonq2: right gotta go myself for a while. I'll check a bit later on to see what still needs doing. [16:11] and good luck. I hope it all goes well. I'm sure it will.
