[13:40] Hi all [13:40] trying to bootstrap juju 2 with maas 2 in 16.04 getting juju bootsrap hung when "Fetching" gui. I've added —debug and log. Please advice why hangs ? https://0bin.link/paste/hehQjxRA#sv0PImHpJHuOv1-FA3yUmgMpN2ycDe+1CS3HEg5oNl8 [16:31] Bug #1624693 opened: [2.1] Rack failed to run/register on fresh install === spammy is now known as Guest13563 === Guest13563 is now known as spammy === saibarspeis is now known as saibarAuei === stack is now known as Guest17230 [21:49] Greetings. I am just getting started (~30 minutes ago) with MAAS, and I don't understand the documentation. [21:50] I did an install from the Ubuntu Server ISO and it configured my region and rack controller [21:50] Now I am here: http://maas.io/docs/installconfig-dhcp [21:51] The first thing is that my version is "MAAS Version 2.0.0+bzr5189-0ubuntu1 (16.04.1)" and it doesn't quite line up with what the documentation says (things are just a little off). I am guessing it is just an update to the software and the docs are still catching up. [21:52] So I go to my "Networks" tab and I don't have a VLAN option.... [21:52] but I can add one, so I do. [21:53] It shows my fabric-2 with two VLANs now. An "Untagged" and the one that I just created. [21:54] Well, that doesn't seem to be what the documentation says...So I delete the one I just created, and go to the "untagged" [21:54] But I can't add a subnet to "Untagged" like the documentation says to do! [21:54] It just isn't an option. [21:55] If I try to just add "Provide DHCP" I get the error "No subnets are available on this VLAN. DHCP cannot be enabled." [22:03] command line doesn't work either.... [22:03] {"primary_rack": ["Select a valid choice. UbuntuMaas.maas is not one of the available choices."], "dhcp_on": ["dhcp can only be turned on when a dynamic IP range is defined."]} [22:06] Hrmm...something isn't configured right with the dhcp... [22:07] BTW, to whoever made the decision to use JSON instead of YAML...I just want to let you know that I love you... [22:08] JSON is just so easy to work with and I hate YAML so very much...as I am evaluating several different things to provision out server builds it seems a lot of them use YAML and it irritates me to no end.... [22:08] Anyway...back to the dhcp problem... [22:33] Hrm. It looks like it isn't properly configuring my network cards....I will do that manually... [22:36] Hrm. Well...that "works" [22:37] After I manually assigned a network/ip to the network card, then I somehow managed to create a subnet that it liked (it didn't like most of what I tried to give it) and it finally created a dhcp pool... [22:38] Although my add network dhcp page looks /nothing/ like the documentation page... === zerick_ is now known as zerick
