JanCwhat exactly do you mean by that?00:00
dragonkeeperJanC: the phone no longer shows imei or serial numbers  so i cant connect to a network00:02
JanCoh, I'm not sure what could cause that00:03
JanCI assume you tried rebooting?00:03
dragonkeepertried rebooting , factory resetting , flashing ubuntu again and flashing android to it .   still no luck  and cant find just the baseband to flash to it  JanC00:04
JanCI guess by "baseband" you mean the firmware for the radio chip or something?00:06
dragonkeeperJanC: yeah  usually that obtains the information ive lost. which is why i think thats the cause00:07
dragonkeeperfrom other phones ive had, its stored on a different partition from /system00:08
JanCI suppose the phone manufacturer should be able to help with that then00:08
dragonkeeperi emailed BQ  not had a response yet .  so i figured if someone else here has a e4.5  maybe they could help JanC00:11
JanCI have an e4.5; not sure what you need?00:12
dragonkeeperim not 100% sure.  i think , a way to flash a new radio.img00:13
dragonkeeperim not sure what that partition is00:13
dragonkeepermaybe secro ?00:15
dragonkeeperbut ive flashed that a few times with no luck00:15
dobeydragonkeeper: did it start happening after you flashed android to it?00:28
dragonkeeperflashed android  it worked okay .  then factory reset it  and it broke flashed ubuntu didnt fix it00:29
dobeyhow did you factory reset it exactly? using the mtk flash tool?00:30
dragonkeeperusing the android inbuilt method00:30
dobeythat must have deleted the partition somehow00:31
dobeyi don't know exactly how to restore the data, but you have to do it with the special tool afaik. i think bq should be able to help you00:31
dragonkeeperdo you know the name of the partition?   because ive tried to reflash partitions a new times with no luck00:32
dobeyi don't. i know it's not simply flashing a generic radio.img or such. it's data that has to be written to the partition after it's created00:33
dragonkeeperhmm i just got sent another secro.img . i shall try this00:34
dragonkeeperdobey: i know usually ths hapes its possible to input own imei but i dont even know what mine is, or what the dial codes are for this phone :'_)00:36
dobeywell i certainly don't know what they are :)00:45
dragonkeeperstandard ones dont work,  but nevertheless its useless. because the phone doesnt have a back cover which is where imeis are usualy listed.00:47
dragonkeeperJanC: on your e4.5  what does it say your baseband version is ?00:54
JanChow would I see that?  (never needed that info)00:58
dragonkeeperi think both android and ubuntu list it under phone settings in the same place it shows kernel version00:59
JanCmaybe using another name...01:01
dragonkeeperin android its under  settings aboutphone baseband     mine just says  MODEM_1   <_<01:02
JanCmy phone also isn't set to English, so that might influence things01:03
dragonkeeperah01:04
JanC(the term "baseband" you use probable refers to the fact that that particular firmware/software sets the baseband that a phone uses)01:06
* dragonkeeper nods01:07
JanCthe actual meaning of "baseband": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseband01:07
dragonkeeperBaseband/Radio/Modem - radio[version].img - Is the firmware for the separate cell modem and is responsible for your cell phone signal01:09
JanCI know that usually has its own non-open-source CPU  :-/01:12
dragonkeepermaybe ill try a older version of android and see if OTA update fixes it01:15
dragonkeeperJanC: dobey   FIXED IT !03:11
dragonkeeperused android dial code for engineer mode :)03:11
dragonkeepernow reflashing to see if it keeps settings03:13

stakewinner00When reciving notifications the screen turns on, that may be a problem if you have the phone in the pocket. There are some way of avoid this without disabling notifications?16:48
ganeshi4uCan anyone tell me if CONFIG_USER_NS (user namespaces) config needed for porting ubuntu touch? Enabling that in my kernel config is throwing out a bunch of errors and i have also heard that user_ns is still experimental but it's provided in the list of the configs that are needed for UT, so will disabling it cause any issues regarding lxc or something.17:21
ganeshi4uPlease i really need help in this to continue my porting. I have googled about this now for a month but didn't find any answer.17:21
