MIzzMadd_ahoy...? Looking for some assistance with my HDMI audio output... also, rather new to Xubuntu and linux both...11:58
knomeask your question11:58
MIzzMadd_I'm trying to get my laptop audio to play through my reciever that is currently hooked up, yet pulse audio does not give me any choices to set HDMI as my output selection12:01
MIzzMadd_I think it was "aplay -l" I was using in the terminal to check my audio outputs and it doesn't show anything for an HDMI one, also when I do a sound test in ternimal all I get is my computer speaker making noise12:02
MIzzMadd_I think it might be a missing driver issue, but not sure...12:03
MIzzMadd_I want to say it's an intel driver thing, so I tried using the intel driver software, installed, looked for updates installed them and still nothing even with rebooting and having both reciever and TV on and plugged in. I can get the dual moniter to work fine with the HDMI cord plugged in, just the sound has me stumped. I was able to plug and play in Windows, just haven't been able to sort it out yet... any ideas?12:07
MIzzMadd_I've been working on this problem for going on day three now...12:11
MIzzMadd_when I type lspci it shows me that it has HDMI audio, but it isn't listed when I use aplay -l... anyone know why?12:24

xubuntu44wI have read there is neighbor discovery bur so far have not found it what I read was via the GUI there was that discovery12:37
MIzzMadd_would it be better off for my sound issue to try using an older version?12:40
xubuntu44wHas there been a helpful response for anyone or is it too early12:41
xubuntu44wthe channel is logged off12:42
MIzzMadd_well, I'm going to try an earlier version and see if that fixes my HDMI issue, wish me luck12:44
xubuntu84dHi all, Great work on for you all on 16.04, One thing I can not resolve after the update from 14....14:06
xubuntu84dIs when I log back on14:06
xubuntu84dI get this weird message14:06
xubuntu84dEven tho I have been logged into the 'win' net B4.14:07
xubuntu84d..It will ask for 'default 'keyring' '?? ... I keep trying my log-on, It'll just ignore it, it will stop on cancel, but that is not an answer, after that Xubuntu is happy, until a restart, then ditto, any ideas please ?14:12
xubuntu86dI will assume as no one is here that Xubuntu is now dead ?14:36
