Seveasmaxb: dns=dnsmasq in /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf, under [main]07:15
maxbSeveas: Actually I just ripped that out after it got readded, because having yet another program trying to insert itself into the environment was even worse07:16
Seveasmaxb: it's the only way to make split tunnels ("use this vpn only for resources on tis network") work07:17
Seveasand for me it works flawlessly, I jump on vpn's all the time07:18
maxbOn yakkety?07:18
Seveasyup07:18
maxbEven after systemd-resolved was added to nsswitch.conf ahead of dns?07:19
maxbOr did you need to revert that part07:19
Seveashosts:      files dns07:19
Seveasdidn't revert it, though this was an upgrade from xenial07:19
Seveasdon't remember a configfile prompt about nsswitch.conf07:19
maxbhmm, maybe you'd already changed it enough that the systemd-resolved postinst wasn't able to add itself07:20
maxbhosts:          files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] resolve [!UNAVAIL=return] dns07:20
maxbis what I have on a new xenial install upgraded to yakkety07:20
SeveasI don't even have systemd-resolved running07:20
maxbInteresting, maybe I should consider attempting to rip it out myself07:21
Seveasand I always kill off all avahi/mdns crap07:21
pandaadbHi - I am happy to see 16.10 is coming :) Did the Xorg 1.19 release make it in there? I think not but I still have a little bit of hope :)08:44
pandaadbokay, i think i answered my own question. Xorg releases I believe Otc 22nd, 16.10 is the 13th, so that'll be a no sadly08:46
dr4c4n_hi there, I don't know where to report this or put it, but I have tried the beta 2 release for ubuntu gnome 16.10, the installer was great, touchpad worked, and my fans weren't on high speed, but when I rebooted, it asked me to login, I did and the screen froze, not black, it was still grey with the mouse cursor in the middle, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could try?18:06
lapionis anyone of libparted in here ?19:19
k1l_lapion: this is the ubuntu channel for the development release. if you want to talk to parted people you might want to look out for their channel or their mailinglist19:20
lapionhi kil_19:21
lapionI went there after I exited here19:21
SquarismSo any reflections on Mir/Ubuntu8 in 16.10? Time to drop X11?23:33
k1l_we will have x11 a very long time still.23:34
Squarismok.. so its not even near ready?23:34
k1l_mir and unity8 are already in use as standard on the ubuntu touch phone and tablet.23:34
Squarismi thought on desktop23:35
k1l_its just that not all desktop stuff will work with x11. just imagine the wild screaming mob if there is no steam or wine support.23:35
Daekdroomk1l_, that is what XMir is for23:35
k1l_*will work without x1123:35
Squarismi run neither23:35
Squarismi rely on java support though23:36
DaekdroomSquarism, Unity8 has been delayed for quite awhile, but preferably before 18.04, which is a LTS23:36
k1l_Squarism: you can test mir and unity8 if you want on 16.10 (or even 16.04)23:36
Squarismok23:45
Squarismhow about you guys. you run mir for productivity tasks?23:45
