=== MaNL is now known as MaNI [06:57] guten morgen [07:28] morgen mein her [07:28] herr [07:28] hmm... === urbanslug is now known as zipper [07:39] Hey Kilos [07:46] wie geht's Onkel Kilos heute? [07:51] wb Naeil [07:53] frozen [07:59] Kilos: But summer's coming down there isn't it? [08:00] i have no idea [08:00] havent been over 22 here and that for no more than 2 hours [08:01] and big storm coming they say'' [08:38] I have a server where incoming packets for port 53 seem to be going to 5353 instead, I just did an 'iptables -F' to make sure I haven't messed up my various port forwards, but even after iptables -F it continues to go to port 5353. How can I verify if the port is being changed by something on the box, or if something external is changing it before it even hits the box? [08:40] i.e. if I do `sudo nc -k -l 5353` on the server - and `telnet 104.233.75.242 53` from externally the two are connecting up, but with an empty iptables I don't expect this to be the case [09:48] nm - figured it out [10:13] Good morning [10:22] good morning gremble MaNI and other za peeps [10:22] i go sleep now [10:22] have a good day everyone [10:53] MaNI: what was it? [10:54] the box had avahi on it and avahi was intefering [12:16] MaNI: ah, I remember looking at that previously as well, thanks for the reminder [13:04] ahoy ZA! [13:04] afternoon inetpro :) [18:12] howzit guys? [18:12] btw, thanks for the help yday superfly . got my API working === ubuntu__ is now known as RemonShai [18:44] hey kulelu88, great and yourself? [18:45] I'm good chesedo . long time [18:46] kulelu88: yea I have been looking out for you (about Ubuntu for Hope site), but see in the mornings that you were here at night [18:46] how can I help? chesedo [18:48] anyone who is handy with iptables lurking around? I have a box with two different IPs, I'm trying to redirect port 53 to two different ports depending on the IP the packets come in on - the redirect to port 5454 for first IP is working, but redirect to port 5455 for second IP is not - any ideas? [18:48] http://pastebin.com/wgUEfrPa [18:49] kulelu88: well i finally got the theme done (https://gitlab.com/ubuntuforhope/ubuntuforhope.org/merge_requests/1), but do not like how some pages look. What are your strong points when it comes to web pages (design, content, etc.)? [18:53] MaNI: what happens when requests from the second IP come in? where do they go? [18:53] MaNI: nope, does the second IPs packets go to 104.0.0.2:53? [18:54] sudo nc -k -l 5454 - picks up incoming packets for 104.0.0.1:53 as expected [18:54] sudo nc -k -l 5455 - picks up nothing, where it does go, I'm not sure [18:55] it's not going anywhere I think [18:55] shouldn't both requests come in from br0? [18:56] second request is at 104.0.0.2:53 [18:57] MaNI: so you're able to successfully send requests from the second IP? What result does it return? [18:58] second ip is the one not working [18:59] incoming request for 104.0.0.1:53 goes to process on 5454 as expected, incoming request for 104.0.0.2:53 is expected to go to 5455 but doesn't arrive [18:59] and thats about where I'm stuck [18:59] check on the machine where the request comes from. what error/message does it show? [18:59] I just get connection refused [19:00] both ports are set to allow in ufw [19:01] chesedo: which pages don't look right? [19:03] MaNI: from my rudimentary knowledge, I think there is an issue with br0 and br1 [19:04] mm [19:07] yes it does look like there might be [19:07] kulelu88: http://pasteboard.co/b0wVl04rq.png <- the RSS feed below the page heading (this page lists all post with a specific tag) seems out of place [19:09] chesedo: from what I see, the RSS is padded a bit too left? [19:09] It looks to be in line with the "First DOnation" heading [19:09] but in the code you, will see that moving it up (next to the heading) will also move some other elements there that I do not want there... [19:10] chesedo: I would remove the RSS Feed link below "posts about donations" [19:13] kulelu88: great. now it's time for me to bed. been a long day... [19:13] kulelu88: we could... but then feed subscribtions for specific tags would be invisible... so do you think it is something that others won't really use? [19:13] night superfly [19:13] oh boy, that is embarrassing [19:13] chesedo: will the top RSS feed button log all the feeds properly? [19:14] so it turns out I assigned the second IP to the completely wrong virtual machine [19:14] hehe [19:14] br1? MaNI [19:14] well the IP that I gave to br1 in the config yeah [19:15] kulelu88: Nikola seems to handle that properly for all posts... [19:15] I added an IP via VM control panel, but added it to a different VM - then configed that VM, and then thought iptables was messed [19:15] meanwhile externally that IP is pointing at a completely different VM [19:15] meh [19:15] lol [19:15] chesedo: then I don't think we need extra RSS feed options all over. [19:16] kulelu88: will remove it then, thanks... [19:24] night all [19:25] good night chesedo [19:25] good morning everyone else [19:26] where's our greeter bot called Kilos? [19:27] hi eprbata [19:28] do any of you guys run a bouncer for IRC? [19:29] not me... I just do the quassel-core thing [19:29] not really a bouncer === aalston is now known as Symmetria [19:43] link to that? inetpro [19:44] okay - so the ifconfig rules work perfectly at least [19:44] thanks, I probably would have wasted another hour looking at the wrong thing [19:50] np MaNI . glad we could save you some time [19:51] kulelu88: http://quassel-irc.org/
