pantatoI am trying to get my microphone to work in Counter-Strike. Counter-Strike just uses whatever the default system microphone is. My microphone is on my webcam. My microphone works if i open Audacity and set it to my usb device, but it still does not appear to change the system's default microphone device. Anyone know how to go about this?04:11

Argh_it is a gaming keyboard20:03
tsimonq2does it work on Ubuntu?20:03
LuMinttsimonq2: yeah, that's easier. I also tend to use just apt these days20:03
tsimonq2LuMint: :)20:03
LuMinttsimonq2: I've been told it's only in mint that apt combines apt-get, apt show, apt-cache etc.20:03
Argh_I haven't tried ubuntu I jumped to lubuntu because it is an older computer20:04
LuMinteven though I've also been told it was the case in Debian and Ubuntu, too20:04
LuMinttsimonq2: that's why I recommended apt-get, I wasn't sure20:04
tsimonq2Argh_: if it's an Ubuntu problem, then it's a driver problem, but if it's Lubuntu, then I should be able to help you20:05
tsimonq2LuMint: nope, that's not the case20:05
Argh_ok.  I am unsure where to start20:06
tsimonq2Argh_: get an Ubuntu Live USB image, reboot into that, and tell me if it works20:07

NeedIs there a way to get a more "option" version for the keyboard and mouse menu?23:02
Needthe reason I ask is they gave me a link that gives an option not available in lubuntu http://askubuntu.com/questions/539769/numeric-keys-not-working-after-upgrading-14-0423:04
lynorianNeed yes lxinput the default input changer in lubuntu but you could maybe install another one or there is probably a config file to edit but installing unity control center would allow that but would be really heavy but I do not know of a more lightweight solution23:08
Needlynorian, did you look at the link by chance?23:09
lynorianNeed I did23:09
lynorianThe screenshot is shown for the unity control center is the graphical program or maybe gnome control center don't know the exact package name23:10
Needhmm   have you a way I can change that or is putting in unity the way to go?23:10
Needthe setting is what I am after :)23:10
lynorianneed I don't know23:10
Needshoot hehe23:11
lynorianthis is not my expert area I have a fairly standard us keyboard layouts so don't end up having theese problems23:11
Needwell I guess I can always purge it :) gotcha.23:11
lynorianI don't know if mate would have a similar setting in the GUI23:12
Needwhat is mate?23:12
lynoriananother desktop environment much lighter than unity23:13
Needforgive me for my ignorance.  So Unity is gui for the desktop?23:14
Needin moron terms :)23:14
lynorianfor one desktop environment23:15
Needhow would I install mate?23:15
Needif you have time :)23:15
lynorianhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_environment23:15
NeedSweet!  off to read, may be back later :)23:16
lynorianalthough installing everything will end up with a ton of programs in menu23:16
lynorianyou can do it but it does not mean you should23:16
Needoh23:18
Needlol23:18
NeedIf I may ask, what do you use?23:19
NeedI guess the better questions is what should I use.  Let me get you the specs23:21
NeedHMM.. that gave me to much. haha23:23
NeedPentium D 3.2 8 gigs of ram23:24
lynoriannot sure unity would run well on a pentium D23:28
Needok23:29
AndymcI installed Lubuntu on UEFI mode successfully yesterday but messed up today when adding a third OS. I had to reformat but now I can't get Lubuntu to install in UEFI mode. I'm doing exactly as I did yesterday. Using unetbootin, windows 8, USB stick. What can I do?23:30
AndymcI restored my main OS from a disk and doing exactly as I did previously, but this time windows skips over the USB even when I manually tell it to boot from that device23:31
Andymc_What can I do?23:33
