[11:40] kahuna: What do you mean? [11:40] The string I gave you does all that [11:41] apt is used instead of apt-get from 16.04 [11:41] although you can still use apt-get of course [11:41] apt just shows progress bars and such things [11:41] ok [11:47] Hi all [11:55] is there some integration with screen orientation sensors? I have a yoga laptop, which can function as a tablet === Dragonslicer is now known as Dragnslcr [12:11] hi i just want say thanks the help/ with backports the ploblem stop [12:14] someone know a tutorial for run the steam on PlayOnLinux with the 16.4 [12:16] try www.google.com [12:18] kahuna: make sure you install the microsoft fonts in wine/playonlinux, other than that the install of steam was the same as on linux as I recall it [12:20] tibi: how is the support for your laptop? I wanted to buy one but I was afraid about having a lot of issues being impossible to use the hardware in a proper way === mgolden is now known as mgolden_ [13:36] Not_a_Robot_: the laptop works fine. I'm using KDE Neon Plasma 5.8 on it. The biggest thing I remember having to tweak was the touchpad sensitivity/acceleration and so on [13:36] lots of parameters there that I've had to bump up, and I'm still not pleased [13:37] also, the touchscreen support is very much superior in Windows 10 [13:37] there are some plugins for chrome and firefox to improve that, but it's still not at the level of windows [13:38] another thing, in windows I was able to configure the laptop to go to hibernation on lid close. No such obvious thing in Linux [13:43] tibi: you can set up this behavoiur [13:44] in System Settings -> Power managment [13:44] there are settings for lid, power btn, etc.. check :) [13:45] cojack: I know where to find them. I only had the option to go to sleep [13:45] no option to hibernate [13:46] yep, only Suspend [13:47] * cojack was curious why they remove this option [13:51] tibi: http://askubuntu.com/questions/761394/why-isnt-hibernate-in-ubuntu-16-04-working-and-how-to-fix-it [13:52] cojack: thanks for the pointers! [13:52] np, u'r welcome [13:53] I wonder if it's possible to fake the touchscreen as a pointing device (something like a wacom) [13:54] because maybe then it would properly react to touch events, instead of just moving the cursor to that location === ghostcube_ is now known as ghostcube === roey__ is now known as EvilRoey [14:45] hi all === black-knight_ is now known as black-knight [15:21] there was something interesting I noticed just recently... can't believe I didn't think of it before, but that BASH subsystem in windows (Windows services for Linux - beta ) shouldn't be called that it doesn't have the Linux part (because there's no kernel used for it)... the program that starts bash is some kind of kernel emulator kinda reverse-wine-like I guess... but it most definitely is not Linux lol - the userland and rest of [15:22] the distro however is ubuntu [18:09] Guys, how can I "hibernate"? "Suspend to Hard Disk"? [18:09] Please [18:09] i dont use it [18:10] but google may help you [18:10] Nope, Google is evil fml_ [18:11] well [18:11] duckduckgo.com [18:15] fml_: sudo pm-hibernate [18:15] that does not wokr [18:15] maaan [18:15] I need that feature [18:16] I have to reboot, we will continue this conversation, don't worry. [18:16] Heeelp! :) I have a reproducible crash in Akregator and I'm trying to submit a bug report. It says the stack trace isn't useful. I've installed kdelibs5-dbg, but it still says it's not enough. There is no kdepim-dbg package (this is Kubuntu Backports). Where do I find more/enough debug symbols?
