yotux I did a upgrade to 16.04 my kernel is stuck on 14.04 old kernel any ideas00:28
pedahzuryotux: "stuck?"  After the upgrade, did you try a "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" ?01:08
pedahzurHow did you do the upgrade? I did the 'do-release-upgrade' process, and it upgraded everything, including the kernel.01:09
yotuxpedahzur: I went back to 14.04 I also use Vestcp so I am stuck at 14.04 for a while01:11
yotuxbut yes I tried both of the above commands01:11
valoriethe magic one after that is usually `sudo apt install -f` where f=fix01:13
yotuxgood to know01:14

KsChoiceI just tried out my logitech C920 webcam on my Kubuntu 16.04 install. dmesg shows USB is recognized. Cheese says it sees nothing though. I install guvcview, which shows the cam working perfectly. I check system settings > multimedia > audo and video > video recording, and I see nothing there. I open a google hangout and the video starts, and after 5 seconds, the camera shuts off.. I turn it on again and 5 seconds later, its off again.. Is there02:59
KsChoiceanybody with similar experiences, and how can I fix this?02:59
KsChoiceAnd how could I get the webcam to show up on the system settings media window?03:00

Not_a_RobotSooo, can someone help me to be able to hibernate my computer, please?09:16
cosmoshi there09:17
cosmosalready 101 votes, maybe you can add some more: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36495609:17
ubottuKDE bug 364956 in panels: information "Add option to keep music/video preview, when mouse hover somewhere else" [Wishlist,Confirmed]09:17
soee_cosmos: hi, this is not Kubuntu bug09:25
soee_yu should ask about it on #kde-devel09:25
soee_or #kde09:25
Not_a_RobotAnd what about hibernating my system? Please :D09:56
SmurphyNot_a_Robot: Your SWAP larger than your available RAM?09:58
Not_a_RobotSmurphy: I don't have the button for that.10:00
Not_a_RobotBut in the other hand, I don't remember that... Let me search on the Internet how to check Swap10:00
Not_a_RobotSmurphy: I think I have no swap, because I have 8GB of RAM10:01
mparilloI see my swap when I type free in the konsole . I trust the used column there more than the used column in the KDE Partition Manager. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36747310:05
ubottuKDE bug 367473 in general "Partition Manager seems to show swap partition is using more than its size" [Normal,Resolved: fixed]10:05
Not_a_RobotThanks mparillo!!10:05
Not_a_RobotYeah, I have zero Swap10:05
SmurphyNot_a_Robot: Hibernation goes through swap (it write the content of the memory to swap. Hence - no hybernation if there is no swap).10:07
Not_a_RobotOk! I'll add like 8GiB of RAM or so?10:07
SmurphyIt has nothing to do with RAM. It is swap space on the disk.10:07
SmurphyIf not, it is suspend. Suspend to RAM works without SWAP.10:07
Not_a_RobotYeah but I thought hibernation just created a temp file in the HDD10:08
SmurphyUnder Windows... and Windows is crap.10:08
SmurphyUnder Linux, the SWAP partition is used. No SWAP partition, no Hibernation to disk. It's as simple as that.10:08
Not_a_RobotRight right Smurphy! I'm going to add some Swappy swappy for my machine10:10
Not_a_RobotAnd then I'll bug you again :P10:10
QuantosSo to stop swapping/hibernating you just remove the swap partition?10:11
QuantosI have more than enough RAM and don't get swapping happening anyway10:11
Not_a_RobotThat's why I didn't select any SWAP for my computer10:12
Not_a_RobotBut now I needed it seems! :)10:12
QuantosNeither did I, but I got it anyway10:12
QuantosThat's something that I'll look into10:13
SmurphyQuantos: Nope. I have a SSD disk, and put SWAP as reserve and made sure the swappiness is set to lowest possible).10:15
QuantosOkay10:15

hi2uyou need to accept EULA17:28
QuantosThere's no option, I've installed and reinstalled it17:28
hi2uthen try purge first and then reinstall17:29
QuantosThat's something I didn't try, thanks17:29
hi2uyou should get EULA text which you can sometimes not scroll to, so press TAB and then ENTER17:29
QuantosI'll let you know mang17:29
QuantosWell, I purged and reinstalled and still no EULA17:39

QuantosYeah, I can't think of anything else to try17:46
