aybukeHi everyone :) I have one question about HP smart array b320i. I have 1 server and I want to install ubuntu 16.04 for this server. (server has 8 disk and configured RAID 1+0) But when I install, I take an error Disk Detect part. Do you have any suggestion??16:14
aybukeAnd I tried this steps but nothing changed. http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c0443918616:16
tarpmanaybuke: please show the actual error (pastebin) instead of just saying "an error"16:18
aybuketarpman: actually I dont take an error output But during installation, must be: ubuntu see 2 logical volume, but disk detect pass directly and I see this screen. (http://imgur.com/a/zmf42)16:26
ktechmidasout of interest would the ubuntu release be killing my ability to pull LXD hosts?16:29

coreycbddellav, ironic and manila uploaded for liberty17:12
ddellavcoreycb thank you17:12
coreycbddellav, what's left?17:13
ddellavcoreycb so far looks like i have diverged upstreams from the neutron and neutron-*'s but those might be from you pushing the delta yourself. And sahara doesn't appear to have an upstream branch17:16
coreycbddellav, 7.1.2 neutrons were already pushed17:17
ddellavcoreycb ok then yea, that should be it. Nova, trove, and aodh have sync'd upstream's17:17
coreycbddellav, use lp:~ubuntu-server-dev/ubuntu/+source/sahara17:17
coreycbddellav, nova, trove, aodh ready to review?  aodh is already uploaded.17:18
ddellavcoreycb yes17:18
coreycbddellav, ok17:18
ddellavcoreycb oh wait i didn't check for CA delta's yet on those crap. One sec17:18
ddellavcoreycb sahara is already uploaded as well17:20
ddellavcoreycb nova is good for review17:24
coreycbddellav, uploaded nova.  just trove left?17:25

rattkingHey folks I am having a problem with some new servers I just got that are suppose to be identical to some I already have. However on the new hardware when the kernel does "fb: conflicting fb hw usage astdrmfb vs VESA VGA - removing generic driver" I stop getting any screen updates and the screen stays frozen. both systems are running the 3.13 kernel on precise and both have the astdrmfb device. I am19:09
rattkingnot sure what changed and why the new ones are failing. any ideas?19:09
rattkingusing nomodeset get the console working again at a lower resolution, however I am still confused about why this is happening and would prefer not do that. also using xenial the graphics do work fine without nomodeset, but I am not quite ready to upgrade my environment.19:11

JustSomeRandomNuHey all, wondering if I can pick someones brain about landscape. Trying to just setup quickstart for a demo on 5-6 systems and having troubles getting the clients to talk to the server. I think it's ssl related.19:37
JustSomeRandomNuport's 443/80 are open, followed the RDS quickstart and copied the cert over to the clients. tcpdump shows the connections coming in on the LDS server but the clients don't think they can communicate19:37
JustSomeRandomNuAlso tried setting up a CA real quick, issuing a cert for the server, copied it over, distributed the ca, ran dpkg-reconfigure ca-certificates, installed the ca, tried again, no luck there either19:37
JustSomeRandomNuis landscape quickstart broken?19:37
JustSomeRandomNus/RDS/LDS19:40
coreycbddellav, I uploaded a few new mitaka point releases for nova/neutron*19:44

JustSomeRandomNunm, think I just got it to work with my self signed ca. Thanks anyways. It was my own derpy fault for not restarting networking after adding the proper search domain.19:47
coreycbJustSomeRandomNu, cool.. was just trying to find someone to help you19:48
JustSomeRandomNucoreycb: no worries, thanks!19:48
coreycbJustSomeRandomNu, good luck on the demo :)19:49
JustSomeRandomNuThanks! I like landscape so far and the RBAC features are nice. Plus it looks like it'll make package management a breeze.19:49
JustSomeRandomNuIf the powers that be agree then I've dive into the full setup19:50
JustSomeRandomNuok, off to play with it. have a great day guys and gals!19:50
coreycbbeisner, when you get a moment all the delta in liberty-staging is ready to promote to -proposed: http://reqorts.qa.ubuntu.com/reports/ubuntu-server/cloud-archive/liberty_versions.html19:52
tomreynrattking: use HWE kernels20:10
tomreyn!hwe | rattking20:10
ubotturattking: The Ubuntu LTS enablement stacks provide newer kernel and X support for existing LTS releases, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack20:10
rattkingtomreyn: thanks for the reply! I am using the 3.13 HWE kernel on precise at the moment.20:11
tomreynrattking: then use a newer one ;)20:11
rattkingand the oddest thing is that I cant find any differnce between the hardware. they are identical in lshw, dmidecode, fbset -i20:12
tomreynrattking: compare the pci ids in: lspci -knnv20:13
tomreynbut it could just be firmware differences.20:13
beisnerhi coreycb - ok liberty-staging and proposed are all in sync now.20:14
rattkingpciid is the same (1a03:2000). yeah it must be20:14
coreycbbeisner, awesomethanks20:14
beisneryw coreycb20:15
tomreynrattking: and, oh, i realize now that tursty's kernel is the newest you can get on precise using HWE.20:17
rattkingtomreyn: thanks for the tips. I will probably go with nomodeset since this is a server and I am never on the actual console unless something is really wrong20:17
tomreynrattking: well you shoudl really upgrade soon, 6 months left before you're EOL20:17
rattkingheh yeah I am working on that :)20:18
* rattking doesnt want to be in the business of backporting my own security patches20:19
halvorsNetwork stack stopped working, systemd is core-dumping.20:20
halvorsAnyone else experiencing this? This is not supposed to happend on a production enviroment running the LTS!20:20
tomreynhalvors: fully patched?20:22
tomreyntainted?20:23
halvorstomreyn: Last patch broke everything.20:24
halvorshttp://pastebin.com/F4j09q2H20:24
halvorstomreyn: Seems to be related to VTI interfaces handles by systemd, the systemd-networkd daemon core dumps, and crashed the whole network stack.20:25
tomreynhmm file a bug report then i guess, using apport / ubuntu-bug.20:29
tomreynis the VTI driver stack open source? i have no rexperience with it.20:30
whiskey_sodahey guys, is there a good channel for plain debian servers?20:30
sarnoldwhiskey_soda: there's #debian on irc.oftc.net but it's >700 folks, so it can be a bit dfficult to have conversations..20:31
tomreynthere's also #debian here on freenode20:32
whiskey_sodagotcha.  #debian seems to be inactive here. I could just be bad at irc though.20:33
halvorstomreyn: Seems that they've backported systemd-231 to xenial. But they didn't care to take the network code from 231 so there is a lot of nullpointerexceptions there now.20:44
rbasakhalvors: please file a bug.20:53
halvorsrbasak: I don't think i will. Don't think the maintainers will care to fix it.21:04
halvorshttp://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/main/s/systemd/systemd_229-4ubuntu11/changelog21:04
halvorsHere it says systemd-networkd is not officially supported.21:04
rbasakhalvors: that changelog message gives me the impression that the plan is to make networkd work. I don't know the answer, but I know if that if you don't bother to report the bug, there's definitely no chance of getting it fixed.21:10
rbasakOTOH, it looks like this stuff is being actively worked on, so getting in touch may turn out to be productive. Up to you.21:10
rbasakwhiskey_soda: you want OFTC for Debian, which is a different network from Freenode.21:11
whiskey_sodarbasak: thanks, will do21:12
