[00:38] hey guys [01:06] I am trying to get a live cd with lubuntu 16.04 for testing on a computer that only will install from the hard drive or cd rom. The iso image will not fit on a cd. Any workarounds? [01:13] franks: Unfortunately you might be out of luck. [01:14] You can install it using the Ubuntu Minimal ISO, but you can't have a live instance. [01:17] Bummer... need live installation to allow user to try before install. I don't even know if it will work with this old hardware. [01:20] franks: Maybe try 14.04? [14:10] Hello. [14:11] I have a question.. Will the latest Lubuntu 16.10 version work on my old laptop? It's using a Intel Celeron M 360 @1.4GHz CPU, has 1 GB of RAM and a 40GB HDD.. [14:11] Currently I'm using Windows 7 32-bit on it, but it's not very efficient.. [14:12] aNoobishBeginner: It should work yes, you will see if it does or not when you live-boot the installer [14:13] Live-boot you meant it like when I boot it up from the USB stick that I'll be using to install Lubuntu? XD [14:13] Sorry, not very keen on Ubuntu/Linux based OS. [14:15] aNoobishBeginner: Yes [14:16] Oh, okay. @hateball And would it run Youtube @720p and some basic web browsing without problems using Lubuntu? Just wondering. :) [14:30] aNoobishBeginner: does it have some form of dedicated gpu? the cpu is quite slow by todays standards, HD video might be problematic [14:30] as will any modern website with a lot of javascript [14:30] aNoobishBeginner: it is simple enough to try, you dont have to install to find out. you can test it all in the live-session [14:31] @hateball Oh.. It has a pretty old integraded Intel graphics chip.. [14:37] @hateball Perhaps this could do the trick - http://www.instructables.com/id/Boot-from-usb-on-an-old-pc-without-modding-the-BIO/ ? [14:38] aNoobishBeginner: oh, so it does not have usb boot either? [14:53] Yes.. [15:50] hey I have problem [15:53] hey I have a problem with loging into ubuntu software center, it says that my e-mail/password is not valid(in 100% is). I found on the net that it was some kind of bug. Anyone has any ideas how to fix that? === PresidentPip is now known as Pipton [21:00] wxl: Ping, suggestion for the topic. [21:01] hm? [21:02] wxl: Add something like "Email lubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com if your problem doesn't get solved within a resonable amount of time." [21:02] *reasonable [21:02] i'd like to keep the topic under a page [21:03] also reasonable is too subjective [21:04] wxl: But don't you think putting something like that in the topic would be good? [21:04] wxl: Or no? [21:04] possibly [21:06] also you need to fix the -devel topic :) [21:07] Oh? [21:07] Ok. === ChanServ changed the topic of #lubuntu to: Lubuntu: the lightweight Ubuntu https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu | Docs: http://tinyurl.com/LubuntuHelp | Lubuntu 16.10 is out: http://tinyurl.com/GetLubuntu | Offtopic: #lubuntu-offtopic | QA/Development: #lubuntu-devel | alternative support: http://lists.ubuntu.com/lubuntu-users [23:37] Anyone know what the black LXDE theme is that is default in Debian Jessie?
