konnnHello. Is there ant way to edit, via developer mode, and set IMEI settings?12:32
popeyI think that stuff is buried away in another partition. You may need a tool from the manufacturer to do that. I don't think we provide the tools to do it.12:35

konnn__Hello,16:07
konnn__after reflashing from android to ubuntu touch, the sim cards were unable to register to the network. Searching I noticed that IMEI numbers were not set. In android there is the engineer mode where someone can set these by getting there.16:07
konnn__Is there any way to do it in ubuntu touch, even if I have to edit system files?16:07
=== JanC_ is now known as JanC
dobeykonnn__: you need to ask your device manufacturer about how to restore the IMEI. you can't do it from within ubuntu touch, afaik16:25
konnn__well, thank you for your reply16:27
dobeyyou need a special tool from the manufacturer, generally, to fix IMEI and such16:27
konnn__there are tools for that in android, so certainly in ubuntu is unable?16:28
konnn__Is due to the device or th OS?16:28
AngelXenialwhat devices is it dobey ?16:28
dobeyit's not my device, so i don't know16:28
konnn__It is the BQ E516:29
AngelXenialtry flashtools of bq16:29
dobeywell i guess you have the tool already. afaik it's the same tool used to repartition the device16:29
dobeywhich is exactly how you would have broken it16:29
konnn__sort of16:29
konnn__but I tried to reflash16:30
konnn__when I set the IMEI via engineer mode in android is ok16:30
konnn__then, I try to reflash to ubuntu but ...16:30
konnn__imeis lost again16:31
konnn__is there a mode to repartition in that tool>16:31
konnn__?16:31
konnn__or icluded in the flash function?16:32
dobeythe partitioning is different for ubuntu than for android. i'm pretty sure there is a way to repartition without flashing, yes16:32
AngelXenialtry this  guide http://techprolonged.com/2015/12/fix-invalid-imei-restore-nvram-nandroid-sp-flash-tool/16:32
dobeyanyway, for specifics on how to fix the issue you really need to talk to bq support16:32
konnn__Well, I' ll tha method, thank you.16:36
Mister_Qkonnn__, as I told you on github the fix on android is just a software fix. ubuntu looks for the imei partitions for that. you really should send it to bq to get it fixed16:44
konnn__Ok, I certainly deeply consider your recomendations and feel thank for that.16:46
konnn__Also, shall go through IAW the previous link and indetify if that is a software or hardware fix?16:48
Mister_QI had that problem on one of my devices before and it was just a software fix that wasnt recognized on ubuntu after I tried16:51
konnn__IAW  http://techprolonged.com/2015/12/fix-invalid-imei-restore-nvram-nandroid-sp-flash-tool/ ?16:53

Mister_Qkonnn, yes it was similar to that17:06
