kevin__how do I purge telegram info? I've installed it but it wouldn't activate my account on the phone when I put in the code, now anytime it launches (even on uninstall, reinstall) telegram sends new activation codes and I'm stuck at a white screen.00:23

samuraibsdIf I'm flashing to a Nexus 7, should I be seeing "This phone needs restoring from a PC or service center?"05:44
SebthreeBQM10HDhi06:58
Kiryat8What is the reason that on the phone Bluetooth is so buggy when Android Bluetooth is at least stable. Why not reuse the Android code?08:09
Kiryat8I see UBPorts is also stuck on Bluetooth on their ports08:10
SebthreeBQM10HDbuggy how?08:10
SebthreeBQM10HDand which phone?08:11
SebthreeBQM10HDbluetooth motly works ok with this tablet for me08:11
SebthreeBQM10HDand bluetooth will be the same or mostly across ubuntu devices08:12
Kiryat8Nexus4 reboots08:12
SebthreeBQM10HDalthough the nexus 408:12
Kiryat8On phone you have to have handsfree in the car08:12
SebthreeBQM10HDwill be diffeent here and their08:12
SebthreeBQM10HDfor a more proper ubuntu touch experince for certain things or bevause of08:13
Kiryat8This is a show stopper when driving08:13
SebthreeBQM10HDa more recent commercial device would be supported better08:13
SebthreeBQM10HDand no i dont use hands free08:14
Kiryat8I have dual boot Android and switch when on a trip08:14
SebthreeBQM10HDok08:14
Kiryat8According to the UBPorts devices that are newer about all works except the bluetooth08:14
SebthreeBQM10HDI think ubuntu touch has more supprt and proper support on the commercial devices]08:15
Kiryat8I thought touch used the Android hardware drivers somehow.08:15
SebthreeBQM10HDcommercial devices as in from BQ or Meizu08:16
SebthreeBQM10HDand Idon't mean the old first ones, not the BQ e4.5 phone or Meizu Mx 408:16
SebthreeBQM10HDbut anything after those08:16
SebthreeBQM10HDI think that's where Ubunu touch in general, will work best08:16
Kiryat8In the bluetooth bug reports I see many bugs on BQ08:16
SebthreeBQM10HDwhich bq ?08:16
SebthreeBQM10HDas for newer Nexus phones well thos aren't supportd officaly08:16
SebthreeBQM10HDhence the port08:16
SebthreeBQM10HDand as a result you shoudn't expct Ubuntu touch to pretty much completly work there and how intended08:17
SebthreeBQM10HDand on my BQ M10 HD tablet, tried various bluetooth devices now, and they mostly work ok,  sometimes a few issue getting them connected again08:17
SebthreeBQM10HDKiryat8, phonewise in general, the most supported phone is probaly the Meizu PRo 5 currently but that's no longer on sale from the manfuacter08:18
Kiryat8look in the bug reports https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez08:19
SebthreeBQM10HDKiryat8, you should report your issues as bugs I guess08:19
SebthreeBQM10HDand that's ok to us Android for now for what you were doing08:19
SebthreeBQM10HDI have differnet devices for different tasks as well08:20
SebthreeBQM10HDbut mostly use this Ubuntu tablet now :)08:20
SebthreeBQM10HDand Ubuntu touch is always improving every six weeks or so and a new over the air update08:20
Kiryat8I reported the bug but evidently there are so many as no feedback08:21
SebthreeBQM10HDyeah takes time08:21
SebthreeBQM10HDthey only get08:21
SebthreeBQM10HDuhmm08:21
SebthreeBQM10HDwell not sure quite, but probabably about 50 devs at most really08:21
Kiryat8I just looks like we do not need to reinvent the wheel08:22
SebthreeBQM10HDprobably only about 20 people working on ubuntu touch ful time or mostly, I Don't know quite08:22
SebthreeBQM10HDbut yes a small team08:22
sil2100Help from community developers is more than welcome ;)08:22
SebthreeBQM10HDsil2100, indeed and hi08:23
sil2100Hello!08:23
Kiryat8I am on the release candidate cycle so updates are here but not on Bluetooth08:23
SebthreeBQM10HDKiryat8, I don't think bluetooth is one of those things they would be  trying to change08:23
SebthreeBQM10HDKiryat8, but one of those things instead that they would want working like Android08:24
Kiryat8Just for a phone legally here you must have a hand fee car kit. I do like Ubuntu touch and when I have to go back to Android I keep swiping the wrong way trying to remember how they do things08:26
sil2100Bluetooth is a very tricky component, not many bluez people available08:26
SebthreeBQM10HDwhats bluez?08:27
SebthreeBQM10HDa name of a team or08:27
Kiryat8bluetooth package08:27
SebthreeBQM10HDKiryat8, whre is here for yoy08:27
sil2100It's the name of the package and the bluetooth stack we use08:27
SebthreeBQM10HDoh08:27
SebthreeBQM10HDok08:27
Kiryat8Kiryat Shmona Israel08:28
SebthreeBQM10HDKiryat8, oh ok and same here in uk legally if going to use mobile whilst driving car hands free, but they would encourge people to stop and use a phone08:29
Kiryat8Are there instructions somewhere how to debug a Bluetooth problem? I attached the phone logs but if I could be of more help..08:32

brunch875has kernel 3.4 reached EOL? That's what utouch is using right now, isn't it?11:05
=== marcusto_ is now known as marcustomlinson
greybackbrunch875: utouch uses whatever kernel the phone manufacturer ships. 3.4 is old, but I think shipped on the Nexus4, so we use it.11:24
greybackN4 is over 5 years old though11:24
kaisozhi there11:27
kaisozjust a quick question11:33
SebthreeBQM10HDok11:33
SebthreeBQM10HDwhich is?11:33
kaisozI've resolved a bug, did the merge proposal which has been approved by a reviewer11:33
kaisozwhich is the next step? should I change the issue status to "Fix committed"?11:34
kaisozshould the reviewer do it?11:35
sil2100kaisoz: normally the bug is switched to Fix Committed when the given merge is staged for a package release12:05
sil2100kaisoz: so it's up to the person doing the release (or Bileto landing)12:06
kaisozperfect12:07
kaisozthank you very much sil210012:07
=== chihchun is now known as chihchun_afk
dobeybrunch875, greyback: well, more accurately, ubuntu on a phone/tablet uses whatever kernel version is used with the version of android that the image for that device is based on, which is typically the version of android the device shipped with.13:16
