[20:40] <Israphel> if you can ping a dns server by IP, but you cant ping a domain (ubuntu.com) then your problem is there
[20:40] <genii> the main problem with openDNS is that if a name can't be resolved, it redirects to it's own internal page. So things like traceroute or dig don't work properly
[20:41] <xubuntu47d_Dan> so shall I change the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and try another update?
[20:41] <knome> most ISPs offer their own DNS servers, at least in this part of the world
[20:41] <Israphel> yes, If you don't touch anything you'll using your ISP dns servers

[20:41] <Israphel> set 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and then ping again
