If app state can be written to disk, then in theory anything that knows how to read the file should be able to run it, once itself is running. Yes? [08:02] apb1963_, hibernate relies on the kernle you boot the next time being identicle to the one that closed down [14:01] ello, popey asked me to pop-in about a livepatch problem I've encountered. The enable command can't find the socket file because the daemon isn't running after snap install. The instructions say snap install then canonical-livepatch enable, but the snap doesn't have the right interface assigned (kernel-module-control) - it's private bug 1639243 [14:01] Error: Launchpad bug 1639243 could not be found [14:14] diddledan, as far as i know that is meant to autoconnect, could you include versions of the client and version of snapd installed on the system in the bug [14:16] done [14:17] I see there's an updated snapd available for that box - let me run apt full-upgrade and see where that gets me [14:19] ok, that seems to have fixed it - looks like I had an outdated snapd installed [14:20] thanks for the pointer :-) [14:21] there is currently at least no way for the snap to express it needs a minimum snapd level [14:22] I'll be willing to bet that's on someone's radar though [14:24] snap is new so these kinds of issues are inevitable I guess - the more we hit them as early adopters, the more-likely they'll be mitigated in time for mainstream user adoption :-) [14:29] yay [19:17] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1563110 [19:17] Ubuntu bug 1563110 in linux (Ubuntu) "No sound on Asus e200ha, intel sst with cx2072x codec" [Medium,Confirmed] === JanC is now known as Guest51811 === JanC_ is now known as JanC === JanC_ is now known as JanC
