| Bashing-om | OK, system update: swapped out the Bios chip from version 18 to 23 .. situation is worse . Nvidia GT 710 - 14.04 will not boot without "nomodeset" , SSD connected and drives the system insane to the point I have to unhook the SSD and run file system checks on my primary system partitions ( all of them !) in order to boot even 14.04 - old trusty minimal .
