[00:25] Ubuntu is kinda crap [00:25] well, it isn't scottish [00:25] @random crap HURD emacs [00:25] crap [00:25] what! [00:26] well, ubuntu certainly isn't hurd or emacs [00:26] * valorie gets the poo bags ready [00:26] I think chu has emacs on highlight [00:26] or at least i hope it's not [00:26] my bacon is chu 's emacs [00:26] lol [00:28] we totally need a factoid for spacemacs [00:28] spacemacs is chu 's favorite OS! [00:29] Oh God, please don't :( [00:29] I think the whole fanboi'ing over spacemacs has died down, or at least, I hope it has. [00:31] heh [00:32] still superstrong here [00:32] chu: have you tried vi i hear it is good [00:33] if there is arch on windows, spacemacs deserves a spot there too [00:34] emacs, for when you want a text editor that's so slow it has to hook into glibc and do crazy stuff to load in a reasonable amount of time [00:35] the problem is calling it a text editor [00:35] it's great for lisp for sure. [00:35] i mean, my gentoo starts quicker than some people on LWN recently said emacs starts [00:35] it has an irc client [00:35] which is hilarious [00:35] i have entirely poo-pooed emacs up until editing lisp. [00:36] i still wouldn't consider using it as an everyday editor [00:36] and certainly wouldn't use emacs bindings [00:36] in that sense, spacemacs is kind of sane. [00:37] s/kind of sane/ chu 's fave [00:37] bazhang: > [00:38] bazhang: and even if you fixed that, unterminated `s' command. bummer. [00:41] true [00:42] I want to highlight monsier de la chu [00:42] gesundheit! [01:28] does iresf want an actual step by step walkthrough realtime on irc on getting flgrx working for an android emulator? [01:40] cfhowlett called the ops in #ubuntu (Braunscheisse ban requested) [02:03] dax: I DO have vim.tiny installed, because, I had to give vim a chance (forget about the fact it comes installed by default) [02:04] dax: Oh wow, have you been following Daniel's new fancy loader for emacs? :o === SonikkuAmerica is now known as Guest86025 [02:04] chu: only insomuch as lwn did [02:05] I see. The dude is a wizard :( [02:07] Also, my emacs starts almost instantly - and that is using emacsclient - it depends entirely on the configuration, and most people's configurations just start by loading everything straight into emacs - which is why the load times can be so brutal. There's been a lot of work, say over the last decade (but it certainly goes back further), about loading emacs' internals only when it is needed, but as with [02:07] most things emacs, it'll take a while before this has caught on. [02:07] wxl: Yes, the default bindings are TERRIBLE :( [11:37] welcome back nhandler ! [11:42] tethered shooting with digital camera [11:42] I know tethered internet === SonikkuAmerica is now known as Guest15349 === IdleOne is now known as Guest34309 === littlebunnyfufu is now known as SonikkuAmerica [17:10] do we need +r still set? [17:21] I'd leave it set, but I do appreciate it is blocking the auto connect from the livecd/fresh installs [18:24] of course you do :)
