I have recently started from an ugly bug on rc-proposed: if I turn the bluetooth keyboard on and mash the keys to connect it to my krillin utouch, the phone freezes completely. At that point I sys-rq B to reboot it [11:30] s/started/suffered [11:41] oops, happened again === dandrader is now known as dandrader|afk [12:28] Hello, is anybody online? [12:31] haydenyoung: yes, semi-idle all the time [12:31] Oh [12:31] Can you help? [12:31] if my knowledge allows me, yes [12:32] I am looking for a pre-compiled version of Ubuntu Touch that I can flash via Heimdall or Odin. A.K.A. I need a .tar.gz flash image for Samsung S4. [12:33] I would take a look at wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices [12:33] maybe you can find something there [12:34] I did, the GT-I9505 model doesn't show up... [12:34] then it sounds not to be supported... [12:34] hioefully someone gets to it ;) ;) [12:42] Yeah, hopefully... === matv3 is now known as matv1 === Piece_Maker is now known as Acou_Bass [12:47] haydenyoung are you aware of ubports.com ? === alan_g is now known as alan_g|lunch [13:02] Matv1, I can't say that I am... [13:05] I downloaded CM10 for it, but I'm not sure what that is... [18:17] most of the phone images are based on android 4.4 which uses kernel 3.4 [18:18] we have ported android 7 to my device and it uses kernel 3.0.101 [18:18] so should I assume that ubuntu-touch won't work on my phone ? [18:19] if you can't use the stock 4.4 or 5.1 kernel, then it would proabably be difficult to port; i don't know what exact issues you might run into [18:20] when I use chroot it tells me that kernel is too old then the phone turn off === dandrader is now known as dandrader|afk === dandrader|afk is now known as dandrader === elijah_ is now known as elijah [21:14] HI [21:15] I HAVE INSTALLED UBUNTU TOUCH IN SAMSUNG P3100 [21:16] BUT THERE ARE MANY DEFAULT ACCOUNT CREATED [21:16] WHAT IS THE PASSWORD [21:17] ? [21:17] HELP [21:18] JOIN [21:18] !patience [21:18] Don't feel ignored and repeat your question quickly; if nobody knows your answer, nobody will answer you. While you wait, try searching https://help.ubuntu.com or http://ubuntuforums.org or http://askubuntu.com/ [21:18] also can turn off caps lock please? :) [21:19] i'm not sure what you mean by many default accounts. there is only one default account [21:19] sir i have installed ubuntu touch in galaxy p3100 [21:19] you made a port? [21:19] yes [21:20] or you installed the existing port that's 3 years old? [21:21] but many default user are preinstalled like Lois Mcqueen, toomas vilms...etc [21:21] yes [21:22] what do you mean by accounts? people in Contacts? [21:23] user account [21:23] only access guest login [21:24] ok i don't know what you installed, but it's not a supported ubuntu device build; there are no such users by default on ubuntu [21:25] means i have ported to from android to ubuntu touch [21:26] but many account already inbuilt [21:26] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices/p3100 suggests whom to contact for support, with a couple of links to XDA forum threads [21:27] how can i create new user account in ubuntu touch [21:27] please help me [21:28] Mr dobey ji, r u there? [21:28] generally speaking, you cannot. the device you're using has no official image builds, and it seems you've found something very old, and which is not the stock ubuntu preinstalled system for phones/tablets. [21:28] all i can say is you need to re-flash [21:29] ok [21:29] but give the link to download stock for p3100 [21:29] i don't have it. [21:30] like i said, your device is not officially supported. [21:30] ok [21:30] i'd suggest you go to the XDA forum threads linked in the URL i pasted earler, and ask for help there [21:31] i don't know if any of the people that were involved with that port are on IRC here [21:31] i have already searched that same link...but no solution come [21:33] can u give the default password of this user account....Lois Mcqueen, toomas vilms [21:34] as i said, there are no such accounts by default on ubuntu [21:34] ok [21:34] thanks [21:35] i have installed this build....raring-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip [21:35] from your site [21:35] from what site? [21:35] from what site? [21:36] that did not come from ubuntu [21:36] http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ [21:36] and it's almost 4 years old [21:37] you're going to have to paste the full url [21:37] http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch-preview/daily-preinstalled/current/ [21:37] that is a 404 [21:37] https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6ZauHCT1LSwOTBKMW0wRkR2VDg/edit?usp=sharing [21:37] so you couldn't have gotten it there anytime recently [21:38] https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6ZauHCT1LSwaFc3aV9IcGNYWnc/edit [21:38] right, that is not ubuntu [21:38] that's something someone put on google drive [21:39] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices/p3100 [21:39] like i said, you need to ask the people that made the port [21:39] i have got from this site's link [21:39] and that wiki page has links to XDA threads [21:39] you should go post in those threads and ask [21:39] it is not an official port [21:40] ok [21:40] and judging from the wiki page and such, it's not a port that has been touched in at least 3 years [21:40] ok [21:40] so i'd sugest if you don't want to do the work to bring it back to life, you're probably better of just putting android back on your tablet [22:47] Hi
