xubuntu17isomeone can help me on my xubuntu ?09:30
xubuntu17ii've installed the 14.04 on my acer AO1-431 laptop (with EFI) and after apt update/upgrade, my xubuntu don't boot09:31
mad_pumpkinhttps://github.com/ynsta/steamcontroller  ;; so I'm having an issue where i get this error "no module named usb1" any ideas or help please?16:22
Picimad_pumpkin: It looks like you may not have installed the dependencies listed in the readme...16:29

mad_pumpkinhello, I'm on steam OS, trying to use "sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop" to which I recieve "E: Unable to locate package xubuntu-desktop"20:57
mad_pumpkinhelp?20:57
xanguamad_pumpkin: steam OS is Debian based20:58
mad_pumpkinand missin hundreds of packages, I want to install any of the buntus into it to make it more versitile20:59
mad_pumpkinprefferably xubuntu20:59
knomethat's not trivial and is out of the scope of this channel21:00
mad_pumpkinwhere should I go for assistance then?21:00
knomenot really sure if anybody wishes to support something like this, but you could search the web to see if somebody else has done something like this before21:01
knomeor maybe the steam OS -specific bits are available for *buntu*, so you might be able to install xubuntu, then add those21:01
knome*might*21:01
mad_pumpkinIt has been done vice versa, installing steam OS as an ubuntu extension, but not another environment as a steam extension21:01
knomewell there's your answer then - it sounds a bit more sensible as well21:02
mad_pumpkinor if someone could send me a pastebin of their standard package list?21:02
mad_pumpkinthat way I can just use apt-get21:02
xanguaThe standard package list?21:03
mad_pumpkinsudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list21:03
mad_pumpkinfor this command so I can add them to my list and install other environments21:03
xanguaLike you were told this is the Xubuntu support channel, no steam OS neither Debian21:04
xanguaAnd what you suggest is just.... Not recommended in light words21:04
knomemad_pumpkin, if you wish to do something like that, it's better that you figure out the data and bits you need yourself so you'll have at least some idea what you are doing21:05
mad_pumpkini'll ask in a debian irc channel then21:05
knomethey'll likely tell you the same - good luck21:05
mad_pumpkinwell I'm only looking for the package link that contains the buntu desktop environments for the command I used above21:07
knomesure.21:08
knomei understand, but it's not "just" the link, you're putting yourself on all kinds of problems by enabling those repositories21:08
mad_pumpkinwell steam rests on the debian environment, but has a lot to be desired, I'm looking for accessibility without having to re-install everything21:09
mad_pumpkinfound my sollution with the jessie sources, I just installed gnome21:19
mad_pumpkinthank you all though21:19
* xangua holds his breath21:21
mad_pumpkinBy installing gnome it is also adding all of the standard packages that come with the gnome desktop environment, not quie what I wanted, but deffinately better than standard Steam OS, thnak you again though Off I go.21:30
genii...21:41

Spass_kaerhon: Hello.22:02
kaerhonhi Spass_ :)22:03
kaerhonhey guys, i need some advice22:18
kaerhoni'm currently running xubuntu 15.04, and i need some window thing to run a bunch of softwares for work. so i'm considering dual-booting my computer. i'll also upgrade xubuntu to the last release. Should i install windows or xubuntu first? some years ago grub needed to be reinstalled if windows was installed after xubuntu, i don't know how it is now22:21
brycemlyou almost always want to do windows first if I remember right.  If you don't you have to reinstall grub with a livecd, which isn't hard if you've done it before, but may be hard if you haven't.22:22
kaerhoni haven't22:22
kaerhonthanks for your input, i'll install windows first then22:23
