=== lethu_ is now known as lethu [01:42] running zesty and kmail isnt working. I get an akonadi is not operational or something to that effect. [02:07] it has appeared since I upgraded to zesty [02:08] It's like it's docking a system task or something [02:08] no clue, although you might try looking at the config file [02:09] in either ~/.config or ~/.local [02:09] ok...is there a way to see the processes of the icons in the dock? [02:10] control + escape gives you a way to look at processes in a very fine-grained way [02:10] not sure about plank or icons though [02:10] given that plank is not kde software [02:10] yeah I tried but was unsure what processes where coming from plank [02:10] search for it [02:11] and then right click on what you find [02:11] yeah I wish native dock was available though would be awesome [02:11] Im gonna go google around a bit [02:11] it's quite impressive what and how you can see what's going on [02:14] hi === kasun is now known as kasper === kasper is now known as kas_per [02:14] hello [02:14] :D === lethu_ is now known as lethu === Guest20027 is now known as an-usah [04:50] valorie, sintre, i found a way to downgrade the thing === potvin is now known as naked_emperor [04:51] valorie, prety simple, i just had to pin the kubuntu-backports repo in /etc/apt/preferences.d/ then apt full-upgrade... and it just downgraded the thing === omar__ is now known as oamrramo === oamrramo is now known as omarramo === cyborg is now known as Guest94132 === kubuntu is now known as Guest40157 === jayhunold is now known as jhunold === rumble is now known as grumble === phoenix_ is now known as phoenix_firebrd [10:05] Am I in the official kubuntu irc channel ? [17:43] Hello [17:43] I am a user, and I just download kubuntu16.10 [17:44] user|27285: ok , good [17:47] I burn it on a usb stick, and want to install it [17:48] I click the button on the left top square, but it does not work [17:48] After a disk check it seem's to had 1 file error [17:48] how do I fix it? [17:49] what app did you use to burn to the usb stick? [17:50] ultraISO [17:50] on windows/ [17:51] yes [17:51] ? [17:51] yes [17:51] recommend you use rufus instead [17:52] ok, thank you [17:55] what is the OEM mode? [17:56] user|27285: read this https://rufus.akeo.ie/ [18:09] Why can't I remove widgets from the toolbar? They are unlocked and it says to press and hold, doesn't work ... there are no options that i see in any context menu or in panel menus to remove them [18:11] ZeZu: The trick is to get into edit mode first. Click on the extreme right of your panel. [18:11] the three lines ? [18:11] BluesKaj: Do you use a zsync client on MS-Windows? [18:11] ah, thanks mparillo [18:11] I called it a hamburger, but was told not to do so. [18:12] lol [18:27] no mparillo , never tyried zsync on windows [18:29] Thanks, BluesKaj. I have searched a few times, and it seems as if there is no easy way. [18:29] It is a shame because when you are getting close to a release, and you test three ISOs in two days, zsync is a nice tool. [18:30] mparillo: i used the html download on windows the, but that was yrs ago. I usually have at least one Linux OS working so I use that if needed for linux isos [18:32] zi've used zsync a few times, but wget works just as well IME [18:32] mparillo: ^ [18:33] It does seem that zsync has some overhead that affects the length of time (but some of the overhead, like the checksum at the end, I would do anyway, even if never, not once, have I had a bad checksum due to a transmission error, but because I once downloaded an old version). [18:33] But by reducing the data transmitted, I hope it keeps me under the radar of my ISP. [18:36] I've had zsync error out more than wget and that was during the download not the checksum [18:38] mparillo: what's your cap? [18:39] The vol up/dn don't work, when I try to remap them it complains, when i reassign them anyways it just flat out fails and clears my selection [18:41] I do not have a cap (Verizon FIOS, FTTP), but I could never threaten to leave because the alternative (Comcast, co-ax) is so terrible. [18:42] mparillo: :-) [18:42] So, being prudent is not only my nature, but reduces future risk. Of course, my daughter's video streaming habit probably dwarfs a couple of ISOs a day. [18:43] I'll use the torrent option most times if available [18:48] Nothing in the entire audio volume section of keyboard works at all === phil_ is now known as phil3332 === nicholas_ is now known as crested [21:22] Hello all [21:22] Anyone have an issue with Kmail working on a fresh install? === stuart_ is now known as XsCode === pepee- is now known as pepee
