Happy Wednesday, and happy Kite Flying Day! 😃 [09:18] Feels like a strange time of year for kite flying [09:18] Not particularly windy, just cold [09:20] I don't know, a massive advertising hording blow off the side of the building yesterday. [09:21] *blew [09:23] JamesTait: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA-g8YYPKVo has to be this [09:24] Maybe it's just not windy where I am [09:24] Not especially windy here now, just very dull and grey. [09:25] It was lovely yesterday. Bright and sunny. Proper spring day. [09:43] JamesTait: it's not spring [09:43] davmor2, I'm aware of that. I think maybe the day got lost. [09:44] JamesTait: hahaha [09:45] But as SuperMatt says, the evening wasn't so good. As soon as the sun started to set, the temperature dropped and the clouds started rolling over. === m0nkey__ is now known as m0nkey_ === Azelphur_ is now known as Azelphur [09:46] JamesTait: I want https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2AC41dglnM [09:47] I love a good storm [09:48] JamesTait: I was really excited by the thought of Thunder Snow my two favourite weather type in one sitting [09:48] 🙌 🌩 [10:10] looks like a man with his arms in the air as a fart comes out [11:10] popey: you've been missed dude === ikonia_ is now known as ikonia [11:25] \o/ [11:35] howdy [13:44] https://arstechnica.co.uk/business/2017/02/rackspace-layoffs-370-us-staff-job-cuts-worldwide/ [13:44] erk [13:44] you okay? [13:47] He's already left afaik popey :) [13:53] oh [13:54] yeah, I got out of there over a year ago now [13:55] and now I'm really glad I did [13:55] I went in thinking it might be a job for life [13:55] still not a good sign when you see jobs going in i.t. industry which is supposedly the industry driving the economy... 500 jobs in hp in ireland gone today as well as they close plant making printers [13:57] Problem was offering managed cloud. Mom and Pop businesses who couldn't afford their own sys-ad, let alone bare metal, would sign up for the cheapest managed cloud offering they could. [13:58] When you factored in the number of tickets they were raising, time taken to completion, etc, compared with the enterprises, we were pretty much paying the client to run their business with us [16:03] Does PulseAudio do some kind of automatic volume levelling? === acheronuk_ is now known as acheronuk [22:10] j
