ricotzmamarley, hi, are you looking at 378.13?17:05
mamarleyricotz: Yes. :)17:05
ricotzmamarley, thanks :)17:06
mamarleyShould be ready later today.17:06
mamarleyI was hoping tseliot's 4.10 patch would be ready in time for this, but I guess not.  Maybe we got lucky and official 4.10 support is added.17:07
tseliotmamarley: if it's not there, I have a patch that builds. Tomorrow I'll test and upload (for 375 at least)17:08
ricotzyeah, that would be nice to work out-of-box by now17:08
mamarleytseliot: If you send me the patch I can test it on 378 too.17:09
mamarley(Assuming no OOB support.)17:09
tseliotmamarley: right, let's talk about it again tomorrow, though. I want to test it on my computers first.17:09
mamarleyOK17:10
tseliotas I think I got the cpu hotplug stuff right, but I want to be sure17:10
mamarleyOK17:10
ricotzis there a 375.39 too?17:10
ricotzof course there is17:12
ricotztseliot, ^17:13
tseliotricotz: it's a new 375 release, it's all I can say ;)17:14
ricotztseliot, it is already public, so no secrecy needed ;)17:14
tseliotwhere?17:15
ricotzhttp://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/375.39/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-375.39.run17:15
tseliotI didn't see anything new here http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html17:15
ricotzhttp://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/114708/en-us17:16
ricotztseliot, I guess you could push your zesty package to the ppa17:17
tseliotricotz: I am going to upload to zesty directly, and then it will hit the supported Ubuntu releases 17:19
ricotztseliot, I meant today17:19
tseliotin due time (we have testing procedures)17:19
tseliotit's EOD, and I'm about to go offline17:20
ricotzor do you want to push it now to the archive?17:20
ricotzthat is why I said to the ppa so we can push the backports17:20
tseliottomorrow ;)17:20
ricotzthen there will be another tarball in the ppa17:21

soeeNVIDIA 378.13 Linux Driver Released18:03
soeemamarley: ^ :D18:18
mamarleyricotz: soee: 378.13 and 340.102 are up in https://launchpad.net/~mamarley/+archive/ubuntu/staging/+packages.22:19
mamarleySadly, neither driver added full support for 4.10, though both made (different‽) changes that reduced the sizes of their respective patches.  The 4.10 patches are included, but not enabled in dkms.conf due to the hacked-out CPU hotplugging support.  Once tseliot comes up with a proper patch, I will add that and enable it.22:24
soeeNVIDIA 375.39 Linux Driver Released22:26
soee:D22:26
mamarleyI think ricotz was working on that one.22:26
soeei'm on kernel 4.9 atm. so they should work22:27
ricotzand 304.13522:27
mamarleyWhen it rains, it pours…22:28
ricotzall with xserver 1.19 support22:28
mamarley340.101 and 304.134 also had 1.19 support.  They just forgot to update the changelog for these new releases; it is exactly the same as the previous ones.22:29
ricotzcorrect22:29
soeebit 16.04 does not have 1.19 :(22:29
mamarleyNeither does 17.04, yet.22:30
mamarleyI think it is in x-staging though.22:30
ricotzmamarley, did you resync the 378 packaging with the current 375?22:30
mamarleyNo, I didn't think there had been any changes.  Let me check that again.22:31
ricotzthere are some the 375.39 packages are synced22:31
mamarleyGreat, now I have to do that over again.22:32

soeehmm http://pastebin.com/BY124p7422:47
soeemamarley: http://pastebin.com/BY124p7422:48
mamarleysoee: I'm not sure I see the problem there.  It looks like it is just trying to remove the old -375 packages, which is to be expected.22:49
mamarleyricotz: Can you tell me which changes you made so I don't have to rebase it again?22:51
mamarleyLaunchpad isn't being very helpful with the diffs.22:52
* soee reboot22:54
ricotzmamarley, the diff won't be really helpful22:55
ricotzdownload the 375 ppa package22:55
mamarleyIs this just for Zesty?22:56
soeefirst reboot faled22:57
soeefter plymouth on second attemt i had something like "faile to set xfermode"22:57
soeeis it related to driver ?22:57
ricotzmamarley, xenial, yakkety and zesty are the same22:58
mamarleySo I can grab your Zesty 375 package, update it to 378 again, and use that for Zesty, Yakkety, and Xenial?  (And Trusty and Precise don't need a change?)22:59
ricotzmamarley, afaics there is no diff at all between 375 and 37822:59
ricotzyes23:00
mamarleyBasically I am trying to figure out what I need to do to bring these changes you made to 375 into 378 in a way that doesn't have me doing any pointless work.23:00
mamarleyOK, I think I get it now.23:00
ricotzjust grab the 375 and bump the changelog, control-header and done23:01
mamarleyFor every distro version or just Zesty, Yakkety, and Xenial?23:01
ricotzthose three, keep the others23:02
mamarleyOK, got it.23:02
mamarleyI will do that as soon as I finish with nvidia-settings.23:02
mamarleyAnd eat dinner.  I am hungry.23:02
ricotzthe only change would be your 4.10 patch which is disabled so no need for it either?23:02
mamarleyI only left it disabled because of the CPU hotplugging hack.  But without the patch, the driver won't compile against 4.10 anyway, so maybe I should just enable it?23:04
mamarley(It only applies for 4.10 and not any other kernel version, so the hack wouldn't affect other kernels.)23:04
ricotzmamarley, ok23:17
ricotzg2g, have fun!23:18
mamarleySee you later!23:18
