waylundyheard kde was stable now, and 16.10 fixed many issues found in 16.04.....02:00
waylundyfound some things crashing already02:00
waylundywhich has been a bummer bv i've been enjoying it otherwise02:01
waylundykorganizer crashin'02:01
waylundyinstant messing crashing02:01
waylundyconnecting a second monitor makes it act funny, default panel disappears, doesn't register new default monitor02:02
sintre16.04.2 isn't live yet02:02
sintrei too have had duel monitor issues , most people have02:02
waylundyis this thing using wayland?02:02
sintrelets give it a few days , i have a odd problem with wifi netowkr connection app02:02

sintreothers and some kde02:04
waylundysheesh02:04
sintrei haven't upgraded this sytem yet02:04
waylundyi wonder if neon is more stable since it is more stripped down02:04
sintrestill 16.04.102:05
waylundyyeah, i heard it was buggy hence me going with 16.1002:05
sintrelike imagemagik crashes un graphics won't even load02:05
sintrei honestly haven't gne thru all02:05
waylundyi heard on an interview on brian lunduke yt show, that kde developers want to make kde the "most productive desktop"02:06
sintrestart up disk creator still fk****02:06
waylundyi haven't experience that to be the case.02:06
waylundysheesh02:06
waylundyi gave up on start up disk creator a long time ago lol02:06
sintreits has alot of features that are usefull if that paticular person has use for said feature02:06
waylundyi think last time it worked really well for me was......9.10, 10.04 lol02:06
sintrei think duel monitor iissues is something they need to get fixed02:07
waylundyyeah, i think the lens is most productive = most configureable for any given work flow02:07
sintrebut supposed its kick the can , thats i heard a qt team problem02:07
sintrefor year you could ignore it , but every comptuer sold now will have the ability to out , so it like they're 10 years behind02:07
waylundyi think they should give up on some of the apps02:07
sintrei think they keep some out of tradition , but i agree they should ditch anything that doesn't have support02:08
waylundyto free up more time for more polish.02:08
sintreas i'm done complaining about half of them so i guess people just get ussed to work arounds02:08
waylundyi've wondered about getting mircast for a second monitor lol02:09
waylundyhow is that for a workaround02:09
waylundyyeah,02:09
sintrebetter have identical resolutions02:09
waylundyyikes.02:09
waylundyguess another work around02:10
waylundyhah02:10
sintreclone displays as i know still won't output in the targt resolution unless identical to the host computers02:10
waylundyah02:10
waylundynm02:10
sintreso basicly you get crap display on one or the other02:10
sintrethats still in newest as well02:11
sintrebut i still love kubuntu lol , way to much time investd in it02:11
sintreand i do my best to try to report issues02:11
sintrenot always succesful though02:11
waylundyive been a de whore02:11
waylundyjumped all over02:11
waylundyi was on mate for a while02:12
waylundybefore that gnome 302:12
waylundythen before that, i really wantedto make unity work02:12
waylundyand for a while i stuck through the growing pains02:13
waylundyhow long you've been on kde?02:13
sintrewell unfortately its like kick the blame can around02:13
waylundyhah that is a good way to put it02:14
sintre4 years02:14
waylundyhave you played around w solus ?02:14
waylundyor elementary?02:14
sintrebut wasn't until last october when i forced to buy a new laptop that i got invo, lved in chats and learning more than how to update firefox lol02:14
waylundyi have a machine on each....02:14
sintreoon those two no sry i can't say i have02:14
waylundyyeah, after i get a new job and settled in i plan on learning how to code, and start reporting bugs and helping out02:15
sintrei hated windows 10 so much after it decided to update myself i installed kubuntu side by side on new laptop02:15
waylundy i wanna learn more too...i just got on the irc thing myself.02:15
sintrei'll deal with work arounds before total control02:15
waylundySERIOUSLY!02:15
sintreyea02:16
waylundymy dad is on win10 and they are literally popping up ads about microsoft 201602:16
waylundyupdates when it pleases w/o giving you all the details of what is going on02:17
waylundyno no no no no02:17
sintrebesides it senidng everything you do to "homebase" the last aniversary edition made the cantora ai thing un removable , or made it uninstalable i should say02:17
sintrebefore you could turn it off completely02:17
sintrei don't want a program learning my "patterns"02:17
waylundyi literally try to avoid my macbook air as well, only using it for video editing02:17
waylundyyeah exactly....02:17
sintreyea but like alot of people here i'm the go to guy for friends and family for tgech support02:18
waylundythe one thing i do wish i had native was something like Onenote....yep same here.02:18
sintreso i need an install because i don't use it enough to talk anybody thru anything off the top of my head02:18
waylundyand for my church02:18
sintreactually next wibn10 update supposedly they're gonna lock it so you can't even roll back to a lesser version02:20
waylundyyeah not surprising02:20
sintreso control just got out of control02:20
waylundyscary stuff02:20
sintrend i'm sure it'll screw my grub loader up as well , so more barrel of laughs02:20
sintrebut so far kubuntu has held on lol02:21
sintreless time you give win 10 safer i am i guess02:21
sintrewhich is sad i'm scared of what a os might do ,02:21
waylundyyeah, i'm dual booting but just recently i had a "dcp Watchdog " error , so it doesn't let me get in my system unless i do a bunch of reboots02:21
sintrewin 8 or 10 , or still holding on to 7?02:22
sintreohh yea they shut down all windows 7 support hom version too02:22
waylundywin 10, originally out of curiousity02:22
sintrejust forcing people to spywarewindows version 1002:22
waylundythen over the years i just got sick of it, esp. how shitty our gov. has been creeping in our stuff through these companies02:23
sintreonly good thing is the linux user number will sky rocket02:23
sintrei switched over to linux as primary when they shut down xp support02:23
waylundyheard system76 website almost crashed at a recent apple unvailing02:24
waylundyah02:24
sintrei've honestly never owned a single apple pc or phone02:24
waylundyyeah im on linux 90% of the time02:24
sintreand i'm proud of that02:24
waylundywell, im starting to consider going back to android but that stuff has google spyware all over it too02:25
sintrei have no choice to use it on my phone02:25
sintrebut i have nothing on my phone02:25
waylundyi wish there were better options for those who want a phone that is free from that stuff and still be a smartphone.02:25
sintrei uses a cheapo 30 wanna be andoid smart phone i gtot for free not to cancel my service with virgin mobile02:25
waylundyi actually went to an old school bb 9900 not too long ago02:26
waylundy but it had shitty reception for gsm02:26
waylundyi actually loved it, it felt great felt like time went by slower and had more focus....damn youtube app is constantly getting me02:27
waylundymy wife was getting pissed my phone calls kept dropping02:27
waylundylol02:27
sintrei kinda had to upgrade because of a credit card company as well used a flip phone02:27
sintrecouldn't text02:28
waylundyyeah i needed text, hence the bb full keyboard.02:28
sintrefor fraud protection reason theyll send you a text and say answer 1 back if you are try to make this purchase02:28
sintreand aother anooying crap like that02:28
waylundyah yeah02:28

sintresupposedly i'm on the prowl with the card lol02:29
waylundywell, sometimes those fast food places get ya, and the next purchase is that02:29
waylundysurprised they didn't think that was natural02:30

lordievaderkustodian: You really want to add more info. What did you do, what did you expect, what happend? What version of plasma, kubuntu, etc were you using.15:36
lordievaderRead the reporting bugs link of earlier ;)15:36
kustodianlordievader: I know how to report detailed bug reports, but I just didn't do anything, just upgraded to the development version15:37
kustodiandoesn't work from when I upgraded :(15:37
kustodianI tried removing it, adding it again, etc15:37
kustodiannothing helped15:37
lordievaderStill, this bug report will likely be ignored...15:38
kustodianI thought it was a bug in the latest KDE version15:38
kustodiando you have the latest one?15:38
kustodiandoes Icon Only work for you?15:38
kustodianI mean right click does it work15:39
lordievaderkustodian: On my Plasma 5.9.2 on Gentoo it works fine.16:29
kustodianI'm on 5.9.1, don't see .2 update yet16:29
lordievaderKubuntu might not have it yet ;)16:30
kustodianI tried it on a new user, still the same.16:30
kustodianwe'll see what happens when they update to .216:30
acheronukkustodian: plasma in 17.04 is in a bit in a half/half state with some having updated to 5.9.1 and some still 5.8.5. reason being that we can upload it, but it takes time (and crowbars) to run all the archives QA and migration tests. ideally you would have the whole of plasma migrate to release in one go, but the system is not really designed for big package suites of 40-70 source packages, so you will end up with a transitional state where17:07
acheronuksome features may be broken for a while17:07
acheronukfor example: http://gpul.grupos.udc.es/ka-iron-hand_reports/plasma_archive/5.9.1_zesty_proposed_migration.pdf17:09
acheronukat a guess, I would say plasma workspace still being 5.8.5 in release may be the cause.17:10
=== dilfridge is now known as EMH-1
acheronukmy full plasma release from our testing packages has no such issue17:11
kustodianacheronuk: thx, I guessed it will have issues like that, since it's development :D17:16
acheronukkustodian: indeed. it's frustratingly slow to get a full plasma, frameworks or apps release all migrated to matching versions, but the release team get grumpy if we skip too many QA tests to speed it up (rightly so).17:19
prichardFor some reason KMail will not show my IMAP account, can anyone help? I've looked at every menu  option and option I could and cannot get it to show my IMAP account18:48
