[21:58] noise_: i think you may have the wrong channel? [21:58] for example, If https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/+source/gcc-python-plugin is the package, [21:58] oops, I am sorry [21:58] noise_: that's a source pacakge [21:59] how can I have it installed through the software update center? [21:59] it says "Enter the complete APT line of the repository that you want to add as source" [21:59] but I don't know where I can find that line [22:00] I am trying to get set up so that I can debug python and c++ code from ddd [22:01] you want #ubuntu for questions about using ubuntu; but that package is in the archive already, you don't need to add a new apt source to find it [22:01] what you need to install is the binary packages it builds, not the source package [22:03] But it did not show up in the software center. So i googled and found that source package link [22:03] it seems to only be built for python3 in xenial. ie, it's gcc-python3-plugin [22:06] noise_: sorry, had an internet hiccup at home [22:57] dobey, nacc, thanks for the help! but it doesn't show up in the search result even when I copy pasted the exact string gcc-python3-plugin [22:57] I might be missing some source [23:01] noise_: moving to #ubuntu [23:56] cjwatson or wgrant: Curious, is there a specific reason that there's about a 7 minute delay between submitting comments on bug reports and getting the email, or is that just because it's added to a long queue and it just takes that long to get there? [23:57] tsimonq2: There is a deliberate five minute delay to allow for contemporaneous status etc. changes to be included in the same email, and then there is sometimes a bit of a queue to send.
