[09:36] Good morning all! Happy Tuesday, and happy International Mother Language Day! 😃 [10:05] gort klatu barada niktu :-) [10:09] Bless you, zmoylan-pi! [10:19] i thought it would be more recognisable than conversational klingon... :-P [10:30] JamesTait: Let's do it for England....ENGERLAND is the only one I can think of but I'm at the office and can't find it on youtube and can't be asked to look properly either :D [10:30] davmor2, you mean to say... I beat you today? 😝 [10:31] nah I'll find it after :P [10:49] hi, i tried to install ubuntu (dualboot) on my PC which has 3 SSds of various sizes in it. I made about 80GB of space on what is listed as /dev/sdc (which is actually my main boot drive in windows). However, after I install, Grub bootloader always fails to install. I wonder if there is some logic I'm missing. [11:06] after the new LTS kernel upgrade, i get no keyboard [11:07] not even via usb [11:08] even booting back into old kernel :| [11:36] unless i'm in recovery mode... [12:36] https://twitter.com/stowball/status/833879845453000704 [12:36] ^^ how below the fold works [12:52] evenin peeps [13:44] turns out installing the new hwe stack didn't include the libinput or synaptics drivers , and actualyl removed them :Z [13:44] now you just need to reinstall them from scratch at command line... without the keyboard... :-P [13:44] booting in recovery mode helped a lot [13:45] still took a while to figure out [13:45] when i started lightdm/X it stopped working, couldn't even ctrl-alt-f1 [13:45] diddledan: aaaahhhhh my legs [13:45] don't you feel smarter for having found the problem? [13:46] sort of. its my job to fix stuff every day so i don't base my self esteem on it :P [13:46] don't you feel sillier for it taking you so long? :) [13:46] feel silly for following ubuntu wiki [13:46] the wiki is never updated [13:46] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack [13:46] meanwhile, i found that my grub is failing to install due to my system being in UEFI mode... [13:46] ^^ supposed to be current [13:46] The 16.04.2 and newer point releases will ship with an updated kernel and X stack by default for the desktop. Server installations will default to the GA kernel and provide the enablement kernel as optional. [13:46] nah wasting a time wondering why the power saver kept turning on only to realise you hadn't turned on the power strip it was plugged into... :-P [13:46] Rolling HWE Stacks for 16.04 [14:37] musical unicorn! https://twitter.com/andrewismusic/status/834049087062339584 [18:57] Backups didn't work https://usercontent.irccloud-cdn.com/file/PWtzBfZq/C5NeJNHVYAA9M6z.jpg [18:58] what memory loss? [18:58] lol [19:00] but the best remains the 4 word entry... 'oh no, not again' [19:02] hi [19:07] should I buy inferno, and/or jack reacher never go back or neither? [19:15] i heard inferno is really bad even compared to the old ones [19:16] ditto
