IrcsomeBot<Sanguine> I'm facing a weird issue when the system is lying idle or when the screen is locked. When I try to login to the system, the inputted password, which I'm sure I'm inputting correctly, doesn't get accepted and results in "Unlocking failed" error that I'm unable to log back in. Sometimes I suddenly see black screen reporting errors about encryptfs_encrypt_page, images of which will be shared after this message07:34

floogyHi, there. I'm running 16.04 LTS with kubuntu-desktop15:32
floogyI got big issues since 12.04 or so with kmail2 and akonadi, due to a huge set of MLs and filter-rules.15:35
floogyWhat do you think to try a ppa, to lift up the kontact/kde version, to eventually solve the akonadi/kmail issue??15:36
floogyKMail 5.1.315:38

kcroot_anyone couldt tell me WTF is going on with minimal install and postinstallation of xfce416:46
geniikcroot_: They might know more about that in the #xubuntu channel than here.16:47
kcroot_because i install xfce4 for minimal, after login in lightdm can't open session16:47
kcroot_aha ok i amon kubuntu :P16:47
BluesKajmctavish4 it's not so a problem as a compolicatio, but if you intebd to dual boot then it can be more complex16:49

BluesKaj!UEFI | mctavish416:50

user|32300Hi. can anybody tell me how check on my kubuntu. like what vesion is instaled19:56
koleygropen a terminal and give the command "lsb_release -a"19:58
user|32300thank you. let me try19:59
koleygrno quotes of course19:59
user|3230016.0420:01
geniiAlternately use  -cd instead of -a20:01
user|32300xenial20:01
koleygrok20:01
koleygrthis is Long time support version20:01
user|32300i just love it20:01
user|32300I love my kubuntu20:01
geniiI'm sure the developers appreciate hearing that :)20:02
koleygrIf you don't have any reason to go to next... just wait for next LTS to upgrade20:02
user|32300well I was wondering whether i should upgrade it cause i think i saw a newer version.20:03
user|32300i love upgrading my kubuntu20:03
koleygr<user|32300> ^ see my last messages20:05
user|32300ofcourse, i'll wait for it20:06
koleygrLTS are supposed to be more stable and you don't need a new install or upgrade every 9 months but every 2 years20:06
user|32300oh20:06
user|32300this I didn't know20:07
koleygr18.04 will be the next lts and you can stay at 16.04 at least two more years20:07
geniiuser|32300: If it already does everything you need, better to wait for the next LTS version before upgrading. Reason being, the in-between releases are usually for testing out features and improvements which will be in that next LTS, but perhaps are not quite ready20:07
geniiThere is still also an ongoing Upstart to Systemd transition happening20:08
=== user|32300 is now known as EllaKappa

valorie!steam20:44
