jeritFree Download Manager for one10:27
jeritsome of them allow you to schedule changes in download speed to save bandwidth, so I schedule "alternative" rates during the day when people are online and then let it go full out through the night, but this stupid thing decided better of removing the speed limit last night so my download made no progress whatsoever10:28

K_K_Naccording to the help guide it says insert the stick and then click the CD Drive Nokia and I should see nokiainternetmodem.deb but when I click there its empty?15:52
K_K_Nit says No Media15:52
K_K_Nthe device is a Cell-C device if that helps15:57
K_K_Nso not sure if the device is not mounting properly or maybe the contents is blocked by some settings or because its from CellC they maybe do not have the linux version for the software on the stick?15:58
K_K_NKilos, sorry to read about what happen to you, you may have noticed I have not logged onto IRC for a very long time16:00
K_K_Nonly read it yesterday or was it the day before...16:01
K_K_Nanyways sorry16:01
superflyK_K_N: you might need USB modeswitch16:06
K_K_Nsuperfly, thanks, is that an application from the repository?16:12
K_K_Nsorry got disconnected there16:32
K_K_Nsuperfly, thanks but I have usb modeswitch installed already16:33
K_K_Nbut I have not used it16:33
K_K_Nstill a newbie when it comes to terminal commands etc.16:34
nsnzerohi K_K_N 16:34
nsnzerowhat you trying to do ?16:34
K_K_Nhi nsnzero16:36
K_K_NI want to install the Nokia CS-19 Internet Modem and according to their user guid when I plug the device in and access CD Drive Nokia I should see nokiainternetmodem.deb but for me its blank says no media not even the windows files are visible16:38
nsnzerooh yes - i had that problem with a usb dongle 16:39
nsnzeroif i can only remember what i did ... 16:39
nsnzerothe device is in the modem mode - linux should have picked it up - modeswitch will switch of the modem and activate the storage drive in the device16:44
K_K_Nok how do I do that?16:44
nsnzeroplug the modem in and type lsusb , press enter and see if the the modem is listed16:45
nsnzeroin the terminal / console 16:45
K_K_Nok it shows up as Nokia Mobile Phone16:46
nsnzeroyou running ubuntu ?16:46
K_K_Nyep16:46
nsnzeroopen networks on the top  panel - should be in the top right corner 16:50
nsnzeroi use neon plasma - on mine it on the bottom right corner 16:51
K_K_Nok16:52
nsnzeroif the device is listed there - you click it to activate it16:52
K_K_Nok but what about the software on the device how will I access that?16:54
nsnzerohttps://technomagus.wordpress.com/linux/3g/nokia-cs-19-3g-usb-modem-in-ubuntu/17:00

superfly:-P17:36
kulelu88nsnzero: you can start practicing for number 2 XD17:43
kulelu88superfly: any suggestions for doing this with some JS framework: I have 3 form-fields: Name, Surname, Age. Once the user enters that, they get a display of it back to them, now I want to export that display as a single HTML file17:45
nsnzeroi am goig to wait until he starts to talk17:50

kulelu88night? it's daytime for superfly and chesedo 18:37
nsnzeroits a hoot this time of night 18:38
kulelu88andrewlsd: we're trying to convince nsnzero that he needs to make more babies18:38

kulelu88i think I got it wrong :P who is the oke living in america (apart from fly)18:39
andrewlsdkulelu88: all by himself?18:40
andrewlsdpavlushka18:40
andrewlsdI think18:41
kulelu88i think it's Squirm or squish102 18:41
andrewlsdyeah I know it's sunshine time in Arid_zona.18:41
andrewlsdhmm, that sounds like an alternative name for Cape Town18:42
andrewlsdkulelu88: take a peek at #ubuntu-us-az to see18:43
kulelu88they have state-level channels in murica? 0.o18:43
andrewlsdMaaz: tell pavlushka hi18:43
Maazandrewlsd: Okay, I'll tell pavlushka on freenode18:43
chesedopavlus is in asia...18:44
kulelu88chesedo: my good friend and lover of javascript :)18:44
chesedokulelu88 is right though it is on of the sq's18:44
chesedohow goes kulelu88?18:45
andrewlsdsuperfly and pavlushka are in that channel, that's why I thought Pav resident there too18:45
kulelu88it's squish102 18:45
* chesedo currently might love cpp and go more18:45
kulelu88andrewlsd: your blonde beard is lovely18:46
kulelu88chesedo:  any suggestions for doing this with some JS framework: I have 3 form-fields: Name, Surname, Age. Once the user enters that, they get a display of it back to them, now I want to export that display as a single HTML file18:46
andrewlsdlol18:46
andrewlsdand my blue hair18:47
chesedokulelu88: export?18:47
andrewlsdkulelu88: where did you see me?18:47
kulelu88chesedo: think of it like creating a form in an app and instead of "print to pdf" you "print to HTML"18:48
kulelu88andrewlsd: I see all things here at my NSA cubicle18:48
chesedokulelu88: so this will be in an app (not on the web)?18:48
andrewlsdhttp://www.lsd.co.za/blogs18:49
andrewlsdthought that might have been where18:49
kulelu88chesedo: the app will run in a browser18:49
chesedohmm, then the display back will already be in html...18:50
chesedoi guess you want the user to save this html?18:50
chesedolike a download link...18:50
* andrewlsd goes now18:51
* andrewlsd plans to return in the morning18:51
kulelu88yes, it must be self-contained. if you export the HTML and then click "open in browser" it should load as just HTML/CSS with no formatting issues18:51
kulelu88andrewlsd: XOXO18:51
andrewlsd:-D18:52
chesedokulelu88: with offline support?18:52
chesedomeaning even when the user has no internet connection...18:53
kulelu88chesedo: no, the HTML just needs to open for browsing/viewing18:53
chesedonight andrewlsd18:53
chesedokulelu88: i am getting the sense that you mean the html code?18:55
chesedofor inspection by the user...18:56
kulelu88chesedo: yes. Let me break it down in its simplest form. I have 3 form-fields. I enter name, surname, job description. the app then renders this back to the user. the user can then click on "edit" or "export as HTML file"18:56
chesedokulelu88: either you want this -> http://prismjs.com18:59
chesedoor for the user to download the html you will need to serve the html to the user as normal, but will have to change one of the http header tags so that it presents the user with a download dialog...19:00
kulelu88I could create the form and render with jquery and show you?19:01
chesedoyes, but mostly seems that i am misunderstanding the meaning of export...19:03
kulelu88self-contained rendering of what the user sees in their browser19:03
* chesedo might just be too tired... has been semi sick past few days...19:03
kulelu88just the user-data, not any buttons, etc.19:03
* chesedo will wait for the preview19:06

K_K_Nnsnzero, managed to do what I wanted to do but seems like it was all for nothing that software does not seem to be compatible with 16.0421:30
K_K_Nso now need to see if there is software for 16.04 cause at the moment ubuntu has found it as a mobile broadband but I want it to see it as a 3G USB modem not a mobile phone21:31
K_K_NI am suspecting this is the reason why my connectivty speeds are not as good as it usually is21:32
