OvenWerksfor those who care and use calf plugins. new calf plugins (lv2) will not work with old host sessions. (Qtractor/Ardour) This is because they have changed their url inside the package's ttl file.13:36
studio-user513Kann mir jemant sagen ob ich mit der Guitare sofort in den Comp spielen soll oder ob ein Line 6 gerätelineout besseren Sound bringt.Wie macht ihr das?.14:57
UnityKris_I was told this is the place to go for audio advice?16:08
studio_Akmalкак подключится на русский чат ?16:09
UnityKris_I have a dual monitor set up, and I'd like to play a movie for my kids on one, while I'm doing my online course work on the other using my headphones.16:10
UnityKris_I already have paprefs installed and checked simultaneous output, but that just plays all sound through all devices.16:10
OvenWerksUnityKris_: ya, you don't want that16:11
OvenWerksWhich desktop are you using?16:11
UnityKris_Unity16:11
UnityKris_Why wouldn't I want that?16:12
OvenWerksright. probably you might find installing pavucontrol16:12
OvenWerksbecause you want to separate audio, not combine it.16:12
UnityKris_Oh, yeah, I misunderstood. You're right.16:12
UnityKris_I have pavucontrol installed and up to date.16:13
studio_AkmalHi !16:13
studio_AkmalCan you help me &16:13
studio_Akmal?16:13
OvenWerksPA allows different audio streams to goto different devices.16:13
studio_AkmalHow to install USB DVB T card on my Studio ?16:13
OvenWerksstudio_Akmal: please just state you problem and wait for someone who knows to answer16:14
OvenWerksUnityKris_: if you open pavucontrol you should first of all be able to see both devices on the configure tab16:14
studio_AkmalHow to install USB DVB T card on my Studio ?16:15
UnityKris_I see four devices. Both monitors, my headphones, and the simultaneous output virtual device16:15
OvenWerksstudio_Akmal: can you be more descriptive than that?16:15
OvenWerksUnityKris_: so then in the playback tab... after you start a video playing, the stream that is playing should have a button just to the left of the speaker symbol16:17
OvenWerksthat should say what device that stream is going to16:17
OvenWerksstudio_Akmal: what is a USB DVB T card?16:17
UnityKris_Okay, so it'll be something I have to configure every time? I'm okay with that, just want to make sure it's not gonna default somehow and I'll have to change that later when I want something different.16:18
OvenWerksUnityKris_: yes pretty much so.16:18
OvenWerksif you look at out devices tab, there is a check box16:19
OvenWerksOne beside each output device. One of them should show as depressed16:19
OvenWerksThat is your default device16:19
studio_AkmalI'm new to Ubuntu. How to look USB device?16:20
UnityKris_Yup, I see it. I'll start the movie and check it out, then report back if I have any issues or have figured it out.16:20
OvenWerksUnityKris_: you can of course change that by clicking on the checkbox for a different device16:21
OvenWerksstudio_Akmal: I do not understand that question16:21
studio_Akmal-Input Devices-  Power Button  Sleep Button  Lid Switch  Power Button  AT Translated Set 2 keyboard  Video Bus  PixArt USB Optical Mouse  ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad  Asus Laptop extra buttons  CNF7129  HDA NVidia Mic  HDA NVidia Headphone  ITE 9135(9005) Generic  Burr-Brown from TI               USB Audio CODEC16:21
UnityKris_Yeah, I use it all the time to switch between my headphones and my main monitor. Just never tried two audio streams on two different devices before.16:21
studio_Akmalno16:21
studio_Akmal ITE 9135(9005)16:22
UnityKris_OvenWerks, It's separated the audio, but the movie is playing on my secondary monitor, with the audio on my primary, while my other audio is playing on my headphones.16:25
UnityKris_It doesn't even show the option for vlc to play through the second hdmi out.16:26
OvenWerksUnityKris_: that is beyond my knowhow, I think. you might try asking in #pulseaudio.16:28
OvenWerksUnityKris_: The only thing I can think of is that the second hdmi can not be synced?16:28
UnityKris_Okay, thanks. Maybe it's a driver issue. The second monitor wasn't on when I booted, so maybe it didn't pick up properly when I turned it on.l16:29
OvenWerksbut if the configure tab shows both hdmi ports I would expect it to work on either16:29
UnityKris_I went to Configure tab and under the hdmi Audio, I opened the drop down and two Digital Stereo devices showed plugged in. I selected the HDMI 2 option, and it works now. May have to switch it back if I want to use my primary monitor sound later.16:34
