cpaelzerI just learned that xnox enjoys some snow this week, it would be great if anybody else could take a look at sponsoring bug 167349108:54
ubot5bug 1673491 in libnl3 (Ubuntu) "[Zesty] libnl3 Segmentation fault in sriov environments" [Critical,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/167349108:54
cpaelzeris prepared via bileto and for zesty08:55

apwcpaelzer, looking09:07
apwcpaelzer, ok punched publish09:13
cpaelzerthanks, tracking proposed later then09:14
acheronukapw: hi. can akonadi 4:16.04.3-0ubuntu4 be removed from zesty proposed? that rebuild and patch update on an old version fails tests too badly, and the issue it was to solve is fixed elsewhere now anyway09:17
apwacheronuk, and you are sure none of its reverse-depends have been uploaded since it hit -proposed09:20
acheronukapw: that is just our PIM stack and zanshin, and we have pushed no updates for those since09:22
apwokies09:22
acheronukapw: thx :)09:23
apwbritney seems to agree that nothing is changed, so done09:24
apwacheronuk, don't forget that that version is dead to you forever09:25
acheronukunderstood09:25
sil2100rbasak: hey! I was wondering, did you do SRU reviews of syncs before? I wonder what's the best way of doing those10:45
sil2100rbasak: the sru-review script doesn't seem to work10:46
apwsil2100, you have to use queue fetch to get the package and diff it locally, then use sru-review --no-diff11:22
apwsil2100, it is very annoying11:22
sil2100Ah!11:22
sil2100apw: thanks!11:22
sil2100Looks like we might need to look into improving the sru-review tool for the future then11:23
apwsil2100, there has long been talk of having diffs in launchpad for copies, so it has never happened11:24
sil2100Would be useful, since we have this Bileto tool that operates on package synces that people out of the desktop/personal teams start using nowadays as well11:25
sil2100So I would expect more and more SRUs with package copies around11:26
apwsil2100, yep, though you get used to just diffing them out of the queue manually11:29
apwsil2100, its the same idiom every time11:29
rbasaksil2100: I have some tooling around our git workflow work that allows easier reviews from the queue. I'm not sure it'll work with syncs right now, but my plan is to spend effort on that tooling rather than on sru-review, etc.12:00
rbasakI'd prefer to make the functionality in sru-review/release/accept available from my git queue viewing tool instead.12:01
MirvTrevinho: finally, my second try at fixing camitk now allowed qtbase to migrate to release pocket12:05
fossfreedom_All: re the zesty universe package Terminix - upstream has changed its name to Tilix due to trademark issue.  Debian has apparently uploaded to unstable the newly renamed package. Should Ubuntu follow to resolve perceived trademark issue? http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-release@lists.debian.org/msg102587.html13:01
apwfossfreedom_, cirtainly we should consider it depending how close the renamed version is to ours13:03
fossfreedom_apw: same considerations as Debian - our Zesty version is v1.4.2 - Debian has 1.5.2 ... and have just uploaded "Tilix" at v1.5.413:05
fossfreedom_seems to be a large number of changes between ours and "Tilix" at v1.5.413:06
tjaaltoncould a release team member review 1671799? the -libinput issue dino99 reports doesn't seem to be a widespread issue, I can't repro it13:31
tjaaltonbug 167179913:31
ubot5bug 1671799 in xorg-server (Ubuntu) "FFe: xserver 1.19.3" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/167179913:31
sil2100bdmurray: hey! I took the liberty to release your update-manager SRU from -proposed to -updates, since I wanted to review the other updates-* pair of SRUs in the queue13:37
slashdhi SRU, I'm currently working on a case (no LP bug yet).... about an OpenSSL bug on new AMD CPU (Ryzen) release last Feb ... where the SHA Extension routine is not called on AMD Ryzen cores. My question is since this look like H/W enablement ... do you think this could be eligible for SRU in stable release such like Xenial ? or this will only be accepted for devel release ? This is a new CPU but Xenial is there for a14:01
slashdcouple of years still so maybe future Xenial user running Ryzen CPU may benefit on this eventually...14:01
apwslashd, for me some new functionality like that is ok as long as it is very self-contained so easy to review and confirm is only used on the new h/w14:03
apwone of our main goals is to avoid regressions14:03
slashdapw, make sense, thanks for your input14:04
rbasakThe SRU policy does explicitly permit hardware enablement in an LTS IIRC, though I'd expect ~ubuntu-sru to be involved in mitigating risk and making the final risk decision, FWIW.14:12
apwrbasak, right, it would have to be carefully considered once we can see what the diff actually is14:16
slashdrbasak, apw ack, will communite the info with the proper group14:16
apwwith a much greater level of testing and scrutiny than a regular fix only sru14:16
slashdapw, rbasak, FYI I have requested the new CPU from our partner to test14:17
slashdin deep14:17
slashdthanks apw, rbasak14:22
bdmurraysil2100: thanks, did you look at the update-notifier upload?14:34
sil2100bdmurray: yeah, will be finishing both in a moment, just got back from lunch14:53

tsimonq2infinity: Hi. :)21:52
infinityGuten Tag.21:52
tsimonq2infinity: Sooo... it's Final Beta week?21:52
tsimonq2:)21:52
infinityYeah, I know.  And I know that my alignment with UTC is a tiny bit off.  I'll send the freeze announcement this afternoovening.21:53
tsimonq2Ok21:53
infinityJust trying to test a final glibc upload before I do that, so I'm not breaking my own freeze. :P21:53
tsimonq2infinity: I was just wondering what your plans are.21:53
tsimonq2Gotcha.21:53
tsimonq2infinity: But glibc is a minor package, right? Can't hurt to break the freeze on a package as little as that. </troll> :P21:55
